Subotica plant becomes important member of Swarovski family

A new manufacturing plant of Austrian company Swarovski was opened in Subotica, northern Serbia, on Thursday

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, who attended the ceremony, said that the government's investment in this plant amounting to EUR 2.75 million is investing in the future of Serbia, Subotica and all our citizens.

Vucic said addressing the guests that considering the quality of the material and the building's size, this is the biggest investment in Serbia to date. He expressed special satisfaction that 383 people got jobs, while it is announced that another 170 jobs will open.

Vucic called on Austrian partners to bring more investors to Serbia and employ more people. “This is a good place for you. I hope that you have felt our hospitality,” he said.

Swarovski Subotica Director Dejan Jovanovic said that the opening of the new plant is an event of great importance for the company. The production has been enlarged, the number of employees increased, and the Subotica-based plant has become an important member of the Swarovski family, he underlined.

Swarowski Professional Executive Vice President Taro Nordheider thanked the Serbian authorities for exceptional support, adding that the sustainable partnership has been growing since the very start.
