After the tournament in Indian Wells, which Taylor Fritz won after a convincing 2-0 victory over Rafael Nadal, a new ATP list has been published, according to which Novak Djokovic is again in first place.

Despite the fact that the last tournament he played was in Dubai, the Serbian tennis player returned to the top of the world. Namely, thanks to the victory of Gael Monfils over Daniil Medvedev in the 3rd round of Indian Wells, Novak overtook Medvedev and now has have 8,465 points, while the Russian is second with 8,410 points. The difference between the two is now only 55 points.

The Serbian tennis player needed Medvedev not to reach the quarterfinals of the Masters in California in order to retake the first position, which he did.

Also, after great games and an incredible series of victories at the beginning of the season, Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal increased his points score and is now in the 3rd place of the ATP list with 7,115 points. Zverev is fourth with 7,025, while Stefanos Tsitsipas is fifth with 6,070.

What is also important is that Novak starts the 362nd week at the top and continues to write history in this segment, now what follows for him is to "attack" the record of Steffi Graf, who was in the top spot of the women's competition for a total of 377 weeks.

In the men's competition, Novak has been untouchable for a long time, followed by Roger Federer with 310 weeks.

What is next for Novak as the season continues is the tournament in Monte Carlo, as well as the Serbia Open in Belgrade. These tournaments should be a good preparation for the Serbian tennis player for the French Open, where Novak has the right to play.
