Youth Business Forum 2105 kicks off in Belgrade

It is difficult for educated young people to get a job in Serbia, a country which keeps the infamous record when it comes to the number of educated people immigrating to other countries, which is to say that the academic community, the government and the economy must connect and ensure the conditions needed to employ young people, it was said at the opening of the Youth Business Forum 2015 in Belgrade Tuesday

The main goal of the Youth Business Forum 2015 project, which will last until April 23, is to find ways to solve the problem of youth unemployment through connection of students and the business world, in line with the Europe 2020 strategy.

Vice-Rector of the University of Belgrade Ivanka Popovic said at the opening of the forum that young people should be encouraged to set up their own companies and that the government should relax administrative burdens on them.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Science Zoran Luzanin said that professional internship models needed to be introduced and a fund for the promotion of innovative entrepreneurship set up.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Nenad Borovcanin said that the forum was a good opportunity to build up a network connecting students, the government and the business world to help create more jobs for young people.

Up to 3,000 foreigners find jobs in Serbia annually

The Youth Business Forum is an international student project organized under the auspices of the Student Conference of the Serbian Universities (SKONUS).
