Two inmates were killed and 21 were injured in today's mass brawl in a prison in Athens between Albanians and Pakistanis, said the Ministry of Justice of Greece.

Violence erupted in a conflict between a group of Albanian and Pakistani prisoners who used improvised weapons in jail, " Korydallos " in the western part of Athens, reported AFP citing an unnamed source.

The reason for the conflict is not yet known, reports the French agency .

AFP has learned that eight of the injured are in serious condition, and in front of the prison were several ambulances .
