THIS IS THE MOST BIZARRE CASE IN SERBIA: Brain fluid was leaking from her nose for years!

Milica Jovicic (39) from Belgrade thought she had a common allergy, because of her runny nose. After four years, doctors concluded that she has a crack in her skull and that surgery may be required.

It all started when, one year, after her trip to the sea, she thought she had caught a cold. Her nose did not stop leaking fluid, and in the morning when she woke up. her pillow was soaked.

- At first I did not pay attention. I thought it was the flu or an allergy. When I realized it wouldn't stop dripping, I started to seek medical help from various doctors. I received various allergy drugs , however,  they suspected it was kidney related. I did nasal swabs, results proved normal. Then, in 2013, I got meningitis. I was sick for six weeks, and that's when I started to worry about my health - says Milica.

By the end of 2014, I accidentally ended up in doctor Bojan Pavlovic's office, an ENT surgeon at the Clinical Center of Serbia. He then suspected that it was a brain fluid leak and quickly referred me to Dr. Dragan Savic, a neurosurgeon.

- My first association was that my brain was leaking through my nose. I wasn't thrilled about having to be operated, but on the other hand, I was glad that I had finally found out what was wrong with me - said Milica.

Dr Dragan Savic said that this situation could be harmful and may lead to the inflammation of the brain.

- I was aware that it could endanger her life, which is why I decided to endoscopically find from where her skull was leaking fluid - says Dr. Savic.

It was a small defect in the brain covering. We took the fat from her belly and with biological glue clogged the crack.

- Now I'll be able to continue dancing, which I stopped due to leakage of brain fluid - ends Milica.
