Iran interested in seeds, planting material from Serbia

Iran is interested in intensifying the cooperation with Serbia in agriculture, primarily in the fields of plant protection and production of seeds and planting material, as well as in scientific research, officials of the two countries' ministries of agriculture said after a meeting in Belgrade

Serbian Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic agreed a visit to Tehran in a conversation with Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Abbas Keshavarz, who, in turn, announced that a senior Iranian business delegation will visit Serbia.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting with her Iranian colleague, Bogosavljevic Boskovic said that they agreed that the volume of Serbia-Iran cooperation in agriculture was considerably larger in the past, in particular as regards trade in agricultural and food products, and that the level of cooperation must be restored to previous levels.

A senior Iranian delegation on industry, mining, trade, culture, sport and agriculture will visit Serbia very soon, Keshavarz announced, adding that this will be an opportunity to carry out suitable preparations for the next meeting of the two countries' joint cooperation committee, which should be held in Tehran by the end of this year.
