MADZGALJ GOT BAPTIZED IN OSTROG MONASTERY 20 DAYS BEFORE HE DIED: A sorrowful confession of his godfather

Dusan Kovacevic, actor and the friend of the late Marinko Madzgalj, revealed that Marinko got baptized at the beginning of March in monastery Ostrog, Montenegro, just 20 days before he died.

Wrung out, pale and sick, he went there with his friend at the beginning of March with firm intention to get baptized - reports Informer news agency.
- We all believed that a miracle would happen, that God would help us in all of this. Some 20 days ago, Marinko called me and asked me to be his godfather. It was a big privilege for me; I was not baptized so I first had to do that in order to become his godfather. He got baptized in Ostrog monastery - said Kovacevic.
He did not want to ask him what had driven him to get baptized aged 37.
- Never did I ask him why he wanted to do right now. When he wanted to talk about something, Marinko would do that alone, no one had to force him. When he did not want to talk about something, he would not. He just told me that he had felt the need to get baptized. We did not talk about his disease. He did not want that, we did not think about the end. We discussed about plans, what lies beyond and about the dreams we were going to make true.
The photos they made after the baptism Dusan will keep like a treasure.
- I would never allow that those photos get published. He was very different physically, and I want the people to remember him the way he was, handsome, full of life. In the end, unfortunately, he did not look like that - said Dusan, and he added:
- I know that angels keep him now and that they will make a good atmosphere. Let them feel like what it is to have him. Besides, he also knows that one day we have to meet again.
Commemoration due to tragic death of Marinko Madzgalj will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 11 AM at the grand scene "Mira Trailovic" of the Atelje 212 in Belgrade.
The funeral will be at the same date at the Bezanija cemetery at 3 PM.
