The basketball team of Croatia convincingly beat Lithuania with the score 90:81 in the fifth round of the group B and took the first place (score 3W 2L) and got the rival in quarterfinal - Serbia!

The calculations were clear before the match: defeat would take Croatia to the forth place and would get USA in quarterfinals, and Lithuania would go against Serbia, so the "chessboarders" were motivated to avoid the "dream team".

In this they succeeded in great style. 

Lithuania, on the other hand, finished in the third place and will play against the second placed team in the group - Australia.

After the first quarter, it did not seem that the outcome of the game will benefit the team of Aca Petrovic in that amount. Baltic team was leading 21:13 and nothing hinted what was about the happen in the match.

The next two quarters Croats created a 28 points difference and practically finished the game, but they had to confirm the triumph in the last minute because Lithuanians, with their mini combo of 8:0, 45 seconds before the end, came very close, with only 6 points difference.

However, Saric (free throws 1/2) and Bogdanovic in the counter attack put a great end for the great Croatian victory. 

Usually, the Croatia was lead by the: Dario Saric (18p) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (21p), but also Krunoslav Simon (19p)

Lithuanians had few better than the rest: Mantas Kalnietis (26p), Paulius Jankunas (28p) and Jonas Valancijunas (13)
