The life story of the only Serbian woman (27) on Forbes list of the most successful: I got fired because I was not thin enough, I started the company overnight (VIDEO)

Entire Serbia followed the recovery of this cheerful and favorite girl, the member of Swimming club "Proleter". Today, Katarina is in a wheelchair, and she is cheerful and a girl full of energy. She is doing what she likes the most.

- What occupies me the most is swimming, just like before. After all the difficult surgeries and therapies that came after the injury, which lasted for around half a year, and my first question was: when will I be able to swim again? - said Katarina in the talk for Zrenjanin portal "I love Zrenjanin".

She revealed for this portal that everybody was afraid of her going to the water again.

- At first, everybody was skeptical about me going into the water again, they thought I will drown, that I will be afraid, etc. However. I didn't have any problems about that, as soon as I entered water I felt freedom - she said for the local portal.

Taking into consideration that she was swimming, she quickly met a lot of disabled people who are also swimming, so she met Valter Faler, a guy who won 34 medals on the Paralympic Games.

- He has seen me in training and he immediately told me that I have to train because I can be successful. At first, I didn't believe that, because nothing was the same as before. I could swim 25 meters in 13 seconds, and after the accident, if I manage to swim it under a minute, I am happy. However, swimming for me was a great, and it will remain a great joy, especially when you win a medal, a cup, when you are praised, that is something that draws you forward.

She adds that she has been training for over a year, which includes swimming and a gym, and she is completely dedicated to it.

GET INTO THE RING AND FIGHT

She has found herself in this situation and Katarina said the following thing, sending a message to everybody who had the same fate and to everybody who has great obstacles in life.

- Bad things happen in life. The situation happened to me and then you have 2 options. Actually, I don't think that there is a choice, everybody around you has a choice, you don't, you simply "go into the ring and fight", I don't know what else you could do but to give up and to say "I can't do this" - Katarina said for "I love Zrenjanin".

This brave girl concluded that we are not all the same because she knows the people who don't have the energy as she does, but also she knows people who "live" twice as much as she does, it is up from one person to the other.

-  People often have a bad idea that this condition is a sickness. No, this is certainly not a sickness, I am paralyzed. Of course, it is hard, but if I had the opportunity to choose one of the two evils, I wouldn't choose to be sick. Of course, you can't choose everything. This world isn't designed for people in a wheelchair, but with the people who love you, support you and surround you, everything is possible - she explained her difficulties, but also her greatness.

One of the competitions will be held on March 2, in Salzburg.

- I plan on appearing on the World cup in Italy at the end of May. Taking in consideration that I still don't have an international classification, I can swim there in qualifications, but it is certainly more inspirational and useful to swim with someone who has the same handicap, instead of just comparing the times over the internet - said Kaca.

Katarina Draganovic Cordas fulfills her free time with reading and learning of the German language. She successfully passed B1 and B2 courses and she plans on going to C1, she is certain that she will go into college from October.
