The team led by head coach Zoran Terzic defended the title that was won two years ago at the European Championship held in Azerbaijan and Georgia, by winning the third gold for Serbia in this competition.
Serbia finished the championship without a single defeat, while this generation of Serbian volleyball players previously took part in the finals in the last three major competitions: the Olympic Games (2016), the European Championships (2017) and the World Championships (2018).
The old-new European champions were greeted last night by thousands of people in front of the Belgrade Assembly.
When they showed up on the balcony of the city hall, the crowed greeted them with thunderous applause, followed by the anthem of Serbia and fireworks.
With the song "Pukni Zoro" the volleyball team and the crowd celebrated the European gold.
