Kisic Tepavcevic says she misspoke, that first coronavirus case appeared on March 6, not March 1

At today's press conference, which began at 3 pm, Dr Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, deputy director of the Institute of Public Health Batut explained that she misspoke earlier and was wrong to say that the first imported coronavirus case was discovered in Serbia on March 1. As she said, this was about the first week of March, or rather, March 6.

"I apologize to everyone who has felt unease because of my lapsus," said Dr. Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, explaining that she is a doctor, that she has been educated all her life to do that job and that she is not used to "handling" the media.

"I urge you to let us do our job, I spent a good part of the morning talking to the media and we have a difficult job waiting for us. Very difficult intensive research is being done in the field."

She said earlier that there are recordings of when the man (first patient) entered the country, and that there are also records and recordings of when he was transferred to the Clinical Center of Vojvodina.

She said that any information about the infected was easily verifiable, that the first recorded case of coronavirus was in the first week of March, or rather on the sixth of March, as reported in the media.
