Vucic speaks with Dacic about meetings in US and Brussels

The president of Serbia met with the minister of foreign affairs

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today spoke with Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic about the upcoming meetings in Washington and Brussels.

The president of Serbia confirmed Belgrade's participation in the meeting at the White House on September 2, at the invitation of US President Trump's special envoy for the dialogue Richard Grenell, to which representatives of Pristina have also been invited.

Five days later, the EU-mediated dialogue should continue in Brussels.

"A conversation with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic about the upcoming meetings in Washington and Brussels," said a post on the Instagram account @buducnostsrbijeav, along with photos from the meeting.

Vucic previously announced that the topics of the meeting in Washington would be of economic nature, which is important for Serbia.

The president said that at the meeting in Brussels, he would ask that an agreement reached in 2013 be implemented - meaning the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (in Kosovo) and in the meantime, he also said the issue of the Decani Monastery would be raised in that meeting.

"What worries me is that we are not talking about real and essential problems, but are looking at how to produce some paper. That is why the Serbian side will ask - from September 7, when I believe the dialogue will continue, and I will represent Serbia there - I will ask for the agreement from 2013 on the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities to be fulfilled, which was signed under the auspices of the EU," Vucic said recently.

He stressed that Belgrade expects a concrete move, rather than churning out papers, and when Belgrade sees that, it will consider how to proceed.

"We will not leave the dialogue, but we want a real dialogue, rather than one where they will be telling us every day that we should just recognize them," said Vucic.
