Vucic and Patriarch Irinej discuss the Kosovo issue

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Irinej. In an open and substantial conversation, President Vucic informed the patriarch about the negotiations regarding Kosovo and Metohija, which were held in Washington and Brussels at the beginning of the month, as well as about the talks with foreign statesmen.

They also spoke about the position of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, in Montenegro, Croatia, the Serb Republic, but also in other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Special attention was paid to a number of announced ambitious projects for the future of Serbia, and his holiness the patriarch expressed special interest in the state's investments in improving the healthcare system and especially praised the fact that the state has rapidly started reconstructing 10 general hospitals as well as works on a new Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade.

The president remarked that this is only the first phase, and that the reconstruction of another 30 general hospitals is planned, as well as the construction of clinical centers in Novi Sad and Kragujevac.

The meeting was attended by the Vicar Bishop of Remezija, Mr. Stefan, the Personal Secretary of the Patriarch Mr. Dejan Nakic, and the Secretary General of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selakovic.
