Dusan P. (36) from Koceljeva was sentenced to a maximum of 40 years in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Violeta J. (19) in the village of Batalage on October 13, 2019, Telegraf.rs has learned. The act was qualified as aggravated murder carried out in a cruel and insidious manner.

The young woman's life was ended only because she broke up with him and did not want to renew the relationship.

Namely, Dusan and Violeta broke up a month before the crime that happened when he came to her house, allegedly to reconcile. He waited for Violeta at the gate in the morning when she returned from the third shift she worked at a juice factory, where she had just gotten a job, and they went to a room upstairs.

Instead of reconciling, Dusan pulled out a knife that he was suspected of using to stab his ex-girlfriend 39 times. As many as 29 wounds in the area of ​​the neck, head and on the left side of the back were qualified by the prosecutors and experts as offensive blows. The unfortunate girl screamed and defended herself from the attack of the frenzied ex-partner, and on that occasion she received countless cuts to her hands.

When they heard the screams, first her stepmother Ljiljana, and then father Dragisa, ran upstairs and interrupted the bloody attack. Violet was lying on the floor half-conscious and covered in blood. Although shaken, they remained clear headed and carried their daughter to the car in their arms. The girl bled on the way to the Healthcare Center in Koceljeva, and the doctor on duty pronounced her dead.

In the Koceljeva area, people still talk about how the killer drove to the Healthcare Center in the same car with the girl he had just stabbed to death and her parents. Dragisa's father held the steering wheel with one hand and his daughter, who was sitting in the front seat, with the other.

Ljiljana and Dusan were sitting in the back, the killer never dropping the knife. When they reached the Healthcare Center, he calmly got out of the car.
