State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Mirsad Djerlek said that, according to announcements, the plan is to vaccinate 2,200 people at the Belexpocentar in New Belgrade today.

He said that so far 946,000 people in Ser ia are in the process of immunization, while 306,332 have been revaccinated.

"During the day, the plan is for 19,132 more people to receive the first dose of the vaccine, and for 50,252 to be revaccinated. That means that today we will administer more than 70,000 doses of the vaccines at the level of the entire country," Djerlek told RTS.

Djerlek added that Serbia has completed 80 percent of the first phase and 45 percent of the second phase of vaccination.

According to priorities, those from the sectors of education, the police, the military are getting vaccinated, and there's still unfinished business there, he said, but added that it is very important that Serbia will most likely reach "a million administered doses" today.

"However, we must not relax. The first dose is not enough, it's necessary and I still call for the strictest possible adherence to anti-epidemiological measures. The fight against coronavirus is not a sprint but a marathon," said Djerlek.

He expects that 40,000 more Pfizer vaccines will arrive in Serbia on Monday, while 125,000 doses produced by AstraZeneca in Britain should arrive in March.
