Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandar Vulin and Director of Police Vladimir Rebic met on Wednesday with Aleksandar Pivic, the director of the SuperLiga, Serbia's top tier football competition.

They discussed models of cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) and the Football Federation of Serbia (FSS), i.e. the association of SuperLiga clubs, in order to raise the level of security at sports events.

Minister Vulin pointed out that rules must apply equally to everyone and that some songs and insults cannot be the reason to stop matches, while others are ignored. Vulin especially stressed that he would insist on individual responsibility of those whose behavior causes violence or inappropriate behavior at sports events.

"There is no collective responsibility, from now on we will precisely single out individuals and we will not allow them to hide behind clubs or supporter groups. Everyone is responsible for their own actions," said Minister Vulin.

It was agreed that members of the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia, together with representatives of the FSS, will be checking infrastructural criteria of sports facilities - stadiums, and especially video surveillance systems that monitor the goings-on in the stands.

"Our stadiums must become gathering places for families, not a space for drug dealer showdowns," Minister Vulin said.
