Speaking about elections to be held in Serbia on April 3, EU envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Miroslav Lajcak said that any decision to organize those elections in Kosovo and Metohija will affect the dialogue between the two sides and that Kosovo citizens should have the right to vote.

Lajcak told at a press conference in Pristina that he discussed the topic with leaders of the provisional Pristina institutions, Pristina-based website Reporteri said.

"We've held initial talks. This is not a topic in the dialogue and there is no agreement in the dialogue governing organization of elections, but there is no doubt that every decision made about elections will affect the dialogue," Lajcak told a joint press conference with US envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar.

"In principle, people should have the right to participate in democratic processes and have the right to vote," Lajcak said.

After visiting Pristina, Lajcak and Escobar will today travel to Belgrade.
