Temperatures to drop by 15 degrees! Here's when rain and thunderstorms will replace heatwave in Serbia

The heatwave in Serbia, brought on by hot air arriving from northern Africa, continues today with the highs ranging from 35 to 40 degrees Celsius, up to 36 degrees in Belgrade.

The hottest days will be Friday and Saturday. Maximum temperatures in all areas of the country will range from 35 to 40 degrees, in places in the Velika Morava Valley and in the southeast up to 42 degrees.

Friday will be sunny, while cloudiness will increase on Saturday.

Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday will see showers with thunderstorms, with the possibility of storms forming.

Maximum temperatures on Sunday will be below 30, except in the south and southeast of the country where they will still be above 30 degrees.

On Monday, there will be a slight increase in temperatures, but then there will be a more pronounced cooling, which will bring more abundant rain and showers with thunder to all areas on Tuesday, with the risk of storms.

Maximum temperatures will drop by 15 degrees compared to the current ones, so the end of July will bring highs of around 24-25 degrees.

The nights will also become cooler.

The beginning of August will bring stabilization and an increase in temperatures, but without extremely hot weather, with temperatures around 30 degrees, the seasonal average.

But until then the heatwave continues, along with very high values UV radiation indexes, putting people at risk of heat stroke. This is why citizens are advised to stay indoors from 10:00 until 16:00.

Starting from the weekend, there will also be the risk of dangerous storms.

In the following days, instructions and warnings issued by state and competent services should be followed.

We must also not forget about the welfare of animals. Citizens are advised to place bowls of fresh water in front of their homes.
