This is the face of school violence. With that sentence begins the post on the Instagram page srbiju_upznaj, which warns of the extent to which this type of peer violence has become rampant and that there must be a reaction.

Disturbing photos of a beaten up boy are also published, with the victim's identity protected.

"The boy from the photo walked out of the school today alone, without his phone, bloodied and scared. No one at the school reacted, no one called his parents, no one took him to the doctor. He reached the bus station in Vlasotince alone, where good people stopped, approached him and called his mother. After that, he ended up in the emergency room and at the police," the post, that you can view HERE, states.

This is not just his story, it continued. This is the story of every child who keeps silent because they are ashamed, because they are afraid that things will get worse if they speak or that no one will believe them.

"I address this appeal primarily to the parents. Please, listen to your children. If they say someone is bullying them, believe them. Ask them how they are at school, who sits next to them, who they hang out with. Teach them that violence is not 'just playing' and that they can always go to you, without fear of being blamed.

I also appeal to all those who survived this. You are not alone and you are not to blame. Violence is never the shame of the victim, but of those who remain silent and those who commit it.

I'm not writing this to call out the school or to encourage a witch-hunt, but to remind you that every time we look the other way, we support the bullies. Report the violence, stand by the child, call the authorities. Better one 'false alarm' than one less child.

The post has been made with the consent of the parents. Let these photos be a reason to wonder what our children will have to say in the future about their school years, will it be about the smiles or about the scars," the caption to the post concluded.
