President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday that Serbia will continue to arm itself in order to deter potential aggressors, and monitor what kind of weapons its neighbors are acquiring.

"Our military doctrine is clear and we continue to work accordingly," Vucic said when asked to comment on a Croatian television report that said Croatia has bought used Rafale planes from France, while Serbia acquired new ones.

The president added that Serbia will continue to arm itself.

"People in Serbia do not need to worry, our doctrine is unequivocal. We are investing huge amounts money in weapons and equipment to deter any potential aggressor from attacking our country. As for the recognition that they bought used while we bought new (Rafales), that's not all, it's just the beginning. We will buy many more things," said Vucic.

According to the president,, the citizens of Serbia will learn more about this "in half a year, a year and a half, two years".

Speaking about the attack in Sydney, when 15 people attening a celebration of the Jewish holiday Hanukkah were killed on December 14, Vucic said that he expects the whole world to condemn such antisemitic actions.

"Jews are our friends and our brothers and we will always behave that way. I am satisfied and happy that some of their (Israel's sports) teams play their (international) home games here. Of course I condemn all those who participate in such attacks and Serbia has always behaved that way," said Vucic.
