The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the provisional institutions in Pristina has issued a notification regarding entry into the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija.

This happened after the so-called of the law on foreigners came into force, and the announcements lists the rules for entering Kosovo and Metohija and the consequences in case of non-compliance.

It is stated that the full application of the so-called the law on foreigners begins on March 15, and that persons who do not have documents issued by the authorities in Pristina when entering Kosovo and Metohija must have a visa or residence permit and report their address of residence within three days of entry.

For any stay longer than 90 days, an application for a residence permit is required.

When it comes to employment, a provisional residence permit and a work permit are required, while work without a permit is prohibited.

As for staying for the purpose of studying, family reunification or other humanitarian reasons, scientific research and other circumstances provided for by law, it is necessary to have a provisional residence permit, the announcement stated.

In case of violation of these rules, the cancellation of the residence permit, the imposition of a fine and the ban on entry to Kosovo and Metohija are all envisaged.

It was announced yesterday in Pristina that the implementation of regulations on foreigners and vehicles will begin today, but that information will be distributed until March 15, and then full implementation will begin.

When it comes to the law on vehicles, it will mean that vehicles with Serbian license plates are treated as foreign and cannot participate in traffic in Kosovo and Metohija for more than three months if the person authorized to drive a vehicle with Serbian license plates has a Serbian identity card issued by the Serbian MUP departments relocated from Kosovo and Metohija.

The new regulations of the authorities in Pristina will affect Serbs who do not have documents issued by those provisional institutions, but who live and work in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as those who periodically come to Kosovo and Metohija for work or education.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic pointed out on Thursday that these regulations represent Pristina's continued institutional violence against Serbs who live and work in Kosovo and Metohija and a new escalating move, absolutely contrary to the agreements from the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
