This is how youth suspected of bludgeoning 89-year-old in Belgrade with a hammer was arrested
The police in Belgrade have arrested L.C. (22) on suspicion that he on Tuesday murdered an 89-year-old man in Jurija Gagarina Street in New Belgrade.
Members of the police intervention unit took the suspect out of a vehicle, and then brought him into a police station handcuffed, his head held down.
L.C. is suspected of inflicted several blows to the victim's head using a heavy object, which reports say was a hammer. The incident happened in front of a garage and left the elderly man dead on the spot. The suspect then escaped the scene in a car.
L.C. will now spend up to 48 hours in police custody after which he will be brought to the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade along with a criminal complaint.
