Young Russian national found dead on Belgrade sidewalk with visible injuries to his neck
The body of a young man with visible injuries to his neck was discovered early this morning in the Belgrade minicipality of Zvezdara, on Severni Boulevard, Telegraf.rs has learned.
According to unofficial information, the 25-year-old was a citizen of the Russian Federation.
It was the passers-by who came upon a horrible scene around 06:00 this morning, to immediately alert the police and emergency services. The young man was found on the sidewalk, lying in a pool of blood. Upon arriving at the scene, the ambulance crew pronounced him dead.
On Tuesday morning, a large number of police officers were at the location, investigating. A part of the boulevard where the body was found has been cordoned off, as forensic experts are collecting evidence that will help them determine all the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
So far, there has been no official confirmation as to whether this was a violent death, murder, or an accident. The body will be sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Belgrade for an autopsy, which will reveal the exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working on identifying the victim and shedding light on all the details of this case.
