Some of our citizens do not want to leave the country because they are actually employed or married there - informed the MFA.
They mention that the Ministry and diplomatic and consular missions of Serbia regularly and with due care and attention follow the development of the internal political situation in these countries and are in constant contact with our citizens who reside there.
- Special attention is paid to the security of our citizens and members of the diplomatic-consular staff - say the MFA.
Military-political analyst Ljubodrag Stojadinovic believes that all those who live in countries where ISIS is active are under risk, much like our citizens.
- It is certain that all those who are there can be at risk, rather killed or abducted by members of ISIS. In this sense, any member of any nation is not protected - notes Stojadinovic.
However, Miroslav Lazansky, a military-political commentator believes that our citizens are not at risk to the same extent as those of the West.
- The target of ISIS are mostly men who are Westerners or work for Western companies. I think this Croat was targeted because Croatia did research in Syria and confronted the Islamic factor. However, we are not an attractive target because we are not seen as a religious or cultural part of the West - says Lazansky.
