Belgrade will get a new athletics stadium in block 45, and with it it will acquire the conditions to qualify for the European Athletic Championship 2024 in the open.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, during the reception of Serbian athletes after the European Indoor Championship in Belgrade.

- We got the information from the athletic federation that if we build the stadium behind block 45 by 2021, we will have great chances to get the organization of the Athletic Championship in the open 2024 - said Vucic.

President of Athletic Federation of Serbia Veselin Jevrosimovic points out that it is very important for Serbia to get an Athletic Stadium.

- I would like to thank Aleksandar Vucic, because during his mandate, we managed to build 10 stadiums, two halls, and the third one will be soon finished in Cuprija. We got the construction of athletic stadium, because no where in the world Athletics and football go together like here - said Jevrosimovic.
