My dad is a Serb, a Muslim mother. Serbs call me balija, Muslims - Chetnik, in Zagreb "stupid Bosnian" (PHOTO) (VIDEO)

One of the most promising young Balkan actors, Dado Cosic, who caused a standing ovation and criticism with role of Francis in the hit play "Black Mother Earth", was born in Bosanska Dubica in 1987 and came to Zagreb in 1999 where he later enrolled at the acting academy.

His mother lived in Zagreb since 1990. The whole war and post-war period "without papers". She had no documents, and so Dado, and as soon as she got citizenship, and thus him too, he finished fifth grade in Bosnia and moved to Zagreb, said "Jutarnji.hr".

- I actually live longer in Zagreb now then i have been living in Dubice, it didn't take long for me to love it, to accept it, because i come from a small place. Now, Zagreb has finally become my home, but it took some 10 years for that - he said.

He didn't have to wait for the Academy of Dramatic Arts to feel like home. In primary school, his position was "here comes the stupid Bosnian".

Somehow, it suited me well, because my dad was a Serbs, mom was a Muslim, and in Dubica, when i was with Serbs i was balija, when i was with Muslims - Chetnik... And when i came to Zagreb, i was a "dumb Bosnian". But that was entirely OK, ingenious - jokes Dado.

In high school, where he went in Sesvete, there were more Bosnians and Herzegovians than from Zagreb, so there was no "Bosnian" label.

- I started theater fairly early, you are young, you are searching for yourself, you want to belong somewhere. Filip, my friend from elementary school, and i were rockers, and others mostly listened to trans, fold music, so i was weird from the start. So the Academy was finally some peaceful period, and certainly the most interesting in my life in Zagreb - he admits.

But he did not get into Academy smoothly. That first year after high school he didn't go to Academy because he agreed with mom that they wouldn't be able to handle it financially, so he got into an easier college, and along the way he worked as a phone operator, when he gained 30 kilos and he was depressed

- I was depressed because I was studying something that did not love. I tried the Academy but they turned me down. After one summer i spent people who also wanted to study what i wanted and then i decided to try again, and i succeeded - he said.

Dado Cosic is now a young and perspective actor who already played in numerous shows like mentioned "Black Mother Earth" and "Confusions", "Magic hill", "Tartuffe" in "Zvizdan" and he won the role in the series "Saturday night, Sunday morning".
