This is HOW RADOVAN KARADZIC reacted after the verdict in the Hague!

A thick beard and a straw hat and 30 kilos less helped him evade his arrest warrant for nearly a decade. He managed to escape the strongest secret services and international headhunters. All lasted precisely until 30 July 2008. 

Then he "fell".

On that day, everybody were on their feet! This wondrous night revealed the largest refugee whose character was by now a worthy character from the works of Dostoevsky.

After all these years, he gave an interview to Vecernje Novosti.

- UN helicopter hovered over my family home. At that time we already had grandchildren and I was worried and angry, but rumors about liquidation became more convincing. This is confirmed by Carla Del Ponte, and I have the recording. Then I decided to take my family away from everything and to get away a bit.

- I came to Serbia when Djindjic was killed, at the same time a law on cooperation of RS with The Hague was adopted, and I then thanked the people who kept me and ended the co-operation, because I did not want to incriminate them.

- Then I started on my own, I went out late at night, walking, buying food to eat. However, the police began to search for the "Zemun Clan" and their hiding places. They were interested in apartments in which apparently no one lives. So I decided to show my neighbors that some old man lived there.

You appeared as David Dabic.

- First, i had to go down from 112 to 80 kilos. I started wearing other clothes, high neck shirts, wide shirts, everything i didn't wear before. I spoke Ekavski dialect. I started to learn about healthy food, and i took some classes and got into everything.

- At that moment i was out of money, so i started doing lectures about healthy food. I worked for some companies, and then as a consultant in few private companies and doctor's offices. I gradated a course in parapsychology. My teacher was a very unusual men, gifted. He gave me the name David.

You were arrested in 2008. What were your first thoughts? 

- I knew that the Hague was like a raging bull. I understood in the plane of Serbian government that i wasn't so special to them, expect like Serbian paradigm, which they will hit as an example, educational mean, that Serbia and its people, should never recover from. First thing was not to defend only myself, but the entire Serbian people, because that is why they are searching for me.
