Not far from Zvornik, in village Jasuci, on 7th October 1969. a body of a pregnant Alija Hasanovic (26) was found. The investigation determined she was killed with 3 gun shots, and the baby was taken out of the womb and taken away.

Sefka was, according to the court documents, born in 1943. Before the arrest, she has graduated only from the course of literacy. She grew up in a relatively rich family. She was a village beauty.

She was left without a father at the age of 16, who was murdered in front of her, and the year later she married Hodzic, the man with alcohol problems, who kept complaining about her infertility.

The investigation was in a standstill until 7 days later, the pathologist Dr Mulan Vusic based on the cuts on the stomach gave his hypothesis that the baby was kidnappedHe suggested the police: "A child from a mothers womb can be taken by someone who desires the child greatly, but couldn't have one of its own. A woman should be found who has a child and did not give birth to one".

Questioning every woman who was in labor in the night between 6th and 7th October, police came to Shefka Hodzic, how was the the same age and a school friend of a murdered Alija.

Sefka, married to a construction worker, reported the birth, but the death as well of a daughter Fatima at a local office.

The doctor examination showed that Sefka never gave birth. Soon she admitted that she did wear rugs under her dress and shalwars to show the village that she did get pregnant after nine years of marriage, but she didn't confess murder. She denied that she committed the crime even thought ducats, the rings from the diseased, white thread of the baby's navel and a bloody knife.

During the investigation and on court she presented 7 different versions of the event: from the total denial with the case, to the claims that "the child was brought by some men".

After the story that the child was given to her by Ramo Hasanovic, a neighbor and an ex convict, who promised her a child before, because he knew she is a barren and she is unhappy because of that, all of the blame she transferred to the groomsman Sinan and sister-in-law Fatima. On confronting Fatima, looking her right in the eyes, she shouted: Speak the truth or i will beat you up right here and now!"

Before the district court in Tuzla were taken SefkaHodzic and her brother in law Avdija Hodzic, to whom she gave a gun in order to hide it in the trash. They were sentenced on 25th May 1970. She was to be shot, and he to 5 years in prison.

The famous lawyer Filota Fila, using many omissions concerning the investigation and the trial, managed to get another trial.

This time, Sefka gave the 8th version of the story - she claimed the murder to be Avdija Hodzic. The court did not adopt this claim, but it accepted the thesis of the defense that it wasn't insidious crime a murder of first degree, so the new sentence for Sefka was 20 years in prison.

She was released after 13 years due to good behavior, on the Day of the Republic. She got married, had a child and changed her name. Up until 10 years ago, she lived in Vojvodina.
