Mogherini, arriving at the Council meeting of EU foreign ministers, announced that the Western Balkans will be an important topic of talks in Brussels.

- I will report the ministers today, and later during the week also the prime ministers about the situation full with tension and which is exposed to internal, regional, and global challenges. But it is a region that has the capacity and strength to reacts and stop something provided that there is a credible European integration processes, and this is our part of the job. I expect from the Council of Minister, but also the EU leaders, to express the clear and strong support to Western Balkans with a view to its credible Euro-integration perspective - said the head of EU diplomacy ahead of a meeting of the Council of Minister, which she chaired.

Mogherini will report to EU ministers about the conversations she had with government officials, opposition, parliament members, civil society and students during her last week's "Balkan tour."

The Council of the EU stated that these discussions will serve as a "prelude" to discussions Heads of States and Government of the EU will lead about Western Balkans when they meet on Thursday and Friday at a summit meeting in Brussels.

It is expected that the EU Council will adopt conclusions that will be the basis for a report to the leaders of the 28 member countries will adopt on Western Balkans on the summit on 9th and 10th March in Brussels.
