Series of earthquakes scared the very locals of Ohrid, who slept in tents for the last few days

The earthquake of 3.8-degree on Richter scale was registered again yesterday at 11.12 am in the Ohrid epicentral region, announced by Seismological Observatory of the Faculty of Science and Metallurgy in Skopje.

Two more weaker earthquakes of 2.5 degrees Richter were registered in Ohrid last night.

From 18th June to the present day, the earth in the Ohrid region has shaken more than 1,000 times, causing fear, anxiety, and moments and panic among the inhabitants of Ohrid and numerous foreign tourists, who are increasingly leaving the hotels and returning to their homes. Families with young children are leaving Ohrid the most, and the lack of young people, high school students and students is noticeable.

People, who rent apartments for tourists, complain that interest has fallen because of the frequent earthquakes, and those who previously booked rooms are now canceling them.

One kindergarten was closed due to frequent earthquakes in Ohrid, and the "White Summer" event was postponed, where the play of Kostana in the performance of the Slavija Theater from Belgrade was supposed to be held on 7 July.

Fear broke out among the residents of Ohrid, and pharmacies say that demand and sales of sedatives and other preparations have increased significantly. Psychiatrists have their hands full, and they confirm in Emergency Center that earthquakes cause fear, anxiety, and panic attacks in most of the people who contacted them.
