After the triumph of the CDU / CSU, led by Angela Merkel in Germany, Sebastian Kurz and his People's Party of Austria celebrated the last major European elections this year. When looking at the political map of the Old Continent, it is clear that parties belonging to the group of the European People's Party are ruling in most states.

Merkel in Germany and Kurz in Austria, and Mariano Rajoy and People's Party in Spain. Victor Orban and his Fides are undefeated in Hungary for years, like Boyko Borisov with GERB in Bulgary. In the neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federation of BiH, Bakir Izetbegovic's SDA and Dragan Covic's HDZ are dominating. Base HDZ and Andrej Plenkovic are leading Croatia, and Serbian Progressive Party has been leading in Serbia for the past 5 years, led by Aleksandar Vucic.

Congratulating the victory in the parliamentary elections to the leader of the Austrian People's Party Kurz, the Serbian Progressive party's international secretary and the minister for euro integration, Jadranka Joksimovic told Telegraf.rs that she hopes to continue the successful cooperation between our two countries and between the two parties.

- Cooperation with right-center party leaders within the EPP brings new partners and friends, and we have their support on our European path, implementation of reforms and economic policy. We have good and successful cooperation within the EPP, which brings together right-center parties from all over Europe, from the EU countries and wider, mainly the ruling parties, including the Austrian People's Party, which reflects an era of rational and responsible politics - Joksimovic told our portal.

She reminded that in November last year the SPP became an associate member of the European People's Party (EPP), currently the largest and most influential party organization in Europe.

- This gives us an additional communication channel and a political platform for various issues. It is good when we can lobby for the interests of our country among friends, and within the framework of party ties - Joksimovic emphasizes.

What is noteworthy is that SPP leader and President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has excellent personal relations with the majority of the mentioned leaders. Merkel supported him in the election race, Kurz is always welcomed guest, but also a host, while relations with Orban show that Serbia and Hungary were never in such a good terms as they are now. Dragan Covic and Bakir Izetbegovic see Vucic as a symbol of the stability of the Western Balkans.

- There was a problem in all elections in Europe, starting from the Netherlands, through France to Germany, that the political pendulum is no longer around the center, but it strives to the classic rightists, demo-Christians, to an even more radical option. What is important is that this scenario did not happen, which is significant for the future of the EU, in order to focus on solving its own problems and stabilization - Dragan Djukanovic, vice president of the Center for Foreign Policy told Telegraf.rs.

When it comes to Serbia, two things are important, Djukanovic said.

- First is Merkel's victory in Germany and, on the other hand, the victory of Kurz in Austria, because they have consistently supported the Euro-integration of Serbia. If we do not have their substantive support, there would be no announcement by Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission, who belongs to similar political structures, that 2025 was a kind of frame for the admission of Serbia and Montenegro to the EU - concluded Djukanovic.
