On November 17, 2025, the second Hermitage Days in Serbia event will be officially opened in Belgrade.

This international cultural project is organized by the Hermitage, the most important museum in Russia, and Gazprom Neft, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.

The focus of the second Hermitage Days is the "Peter the Great and Serbia" exhibition. It is the story about the first Russian emperor, during whose reign relations between the Serbian and Russian people reached a new level.

Special attention will be paid to Serbian comrades of Peter the Great: Admiral Matija Zmajevic, diplomat Sava Vladislavic Raguzinski, military commander Mihajlo Miloradovic, and others.

The exhibition will open to the general public in the Russian House in Belgrade starting November 18, 2025, and will close on January 30, 2026. This will be accompanied by lectures about Russian-Serbian ties given by Hermitage science associates.

As part of the Hermitage Day, on November 20 at the Russian House, the Gazprom Friends of Petersburg project will premiere the documentary-feature film "Catherine the Great" dedicated to Empress Catherine II of Russia. The Serbian audience will also have the opportunity to once again watch the films "Peter the Great. The Last Tsar and the First Emperor" and, "The Empresses".

All these films were made by Gazprom-Media Holding as part of the historical cycle "Russia", commissioned and with the support of Gazprom. A part of the film program will also be "The Russian Ark".

In addition to film screenings, visitors will be able to see a display of costumes from the movie "The Empresses", consisting of replicas of the clothes worn by several Russian queens from the Romanov dynasty. The exhibition is organized by Gazprom's Fund for Cultural Initiatives within the creative laboratory of the Friends of Petersburg project.

Another exhibition that is part of Hermitage Days in Serbia is a project that will be implemented in the National Museum of Serbia, featuring artistic copies of portraits of military leaders and statesmen of the Russian Empire who were of Serbian origin - the originals are in the Hermitage collection. These paintings were done by artist-restorers from the Russian museum's Laboratory for Scientific Restoration of Paintings, and they have been donated to Serbia by Gazprom Group.

The full program of other Hermitage Days in Serbia events is available (in Serbian and Russian) on the project's website: www.daniermitaza.rs.

Hermitage Days represent a series of events that include exhibitions, cultural and scientific-educational programs from this, the most important museum of Russia.

The project was initiated by Gazprom Neft, one of the most important investors in the Serbian economy and a long-term partner of the Serbian society as a whole, a company that also funded the creation of the mosaic that adorns the interior of the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

The cooperation agreement, which envisages the development of a Russian museum in Serbia, was signed by Gazprom Neft and the Hermitage in January 2023, and already in October of the same year, the first Hermitage Days in Serbia was held. After the success of that event, it was decided to continue with the project in 2025.

The Hermitage (located St. Petersburg, Russia) is one of the world's largest museums.

It has over 3 million artifacts belonging to different eras and cultures: from ancient times to the present day, from the ancient world and the ancient East, to Western Europe and Russia. These are paintings and graphic works, sculptures, coins and medals, as well as archaeological items.

This temporal and spatial scope makes the Hermitage not only one of the world's largest, but also a multidisciplinary museum, capable of telling the story of many cultures and their mutual connections.

The Hermitage exhibits are displayed in more than 10 buildings and 500 halls, taking up about 100,000 square meters. Millions of visitors come to the museum every year to see the lavish interior of the Winter Palace, masterpieces by Raphael, Giorgione, Titian, Rubens, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Velazquez, the Impressionists, and other great masters.
