Operational Team for Serbia's accession to European Union to hold its first meeting

The first meeting of the Operational Team for Serbia's accession to the European Union will be held tomorrow, and will be chaired by the ambassador and head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU and the head of the Operational Team, Danijel Apostolovic.

The meeting will be held in the Government of Serbia, and will be attended by National Assembly President Ana Brnabic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic, Minister for European Integration, Chief Negotiator and National Coordinator of the Instrument for Reforms and Growth Nemanja Starovic, and Minister of Justice Nenad Vujic.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamocic, Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy Tatjana Jovic, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy Nemanja Dikovic, as well as Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic will also be at the meeting, the Serbian Government announced on Thursday.

On January 26, the Government of Serbia made a decision to set up an operational team whose role will be to coordinate accelerated implementation of all obligations on Serbia's EU membership path.

The formation of the operational team was proposed by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic during a thematic session of the Government of Serbia held on January 25.

Vucic proposed the head of the Mission of Serbia to the EU in Brussels, Danijel Apostolovic, as the chair.

The task of the operational team will be to provide strategic guidelines, political coordination and timely resolution of issues of particular importance for progress in accession negotiations.
