Sefcovic: Serbia's progress visible in Brussels

The progress that the Serbian government has made by implementing reforms is visible in Brussels and the positions and the relationships of the EU member states towards Serbia are heading in a positive direction, European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic said on Thursday

At a meeting with Serbian Minister without Portfolio for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic, with whom he discussed the negotiation process and the reforms implemented, he noted that the results achieved and the government's commitment to European integration are highly appreciated, and encouraged the government to maintain the same pace.

The Serbian government has done much towards the implementation of reforms, and the goal of the reforms is not only to open the chapters but, most of all, establish a mature and developed society, a statement from Joksimovic's office quoted her as saying.

Vucic: Chapters will be opened before end of year

The opening of the chapters would be a positive signal for Serbia and an additional encouragement for accelerating the reform process, the minister said.
