Dacic: Albanian side obstructs agreement implementation

Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday that the Albanian side in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) has the need to obstruct the full implementation of the Brussels agreement, and underlined that the community of Serb municipalities (ZSO) is the most important part of the agreement that has not been implemented

In reply to an MP's question about the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue in Brussels, Dacic said that the dialogue is one of the key criteria in EU integration, adding that Serbia has adhered to everything it signed, and that it will continue to insist on the implementation of the agreement, whose crucial part relates to the the ZSO.

Pristina keeps coming to Brussels with the desire to not reach an agreement, and Belgrade suffers the consequences of such a policy, Dacic said.

“But we managed to make it clear to international actors that Serbia is a part of the solution because we are a reliable partner, and we implement what we have agreed on,” Dacic said.

He stressed that Serbia has not changed its position and that it does not recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija, noting that such a unilateral act cannot possibly be legalized as it violates the fundamental principles of international law.
