Serbia wants to organize the World Cup in 2030! This information on the joint candidacy was confirmed to Telegraf from the sources close to the Serbian Presidency.

Namely, after a meeting of leaders in the region, it was obviously agreed that Serbia, Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria would submit an official candidacy for the organization of this competition.

This information was confirmed by Aleksandar Vucic, who said that the initial idea came from Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

- We want a candidacy for the World Cup in 2030. The idea came from Tsipras, I have to admit this. It will be an opportunity to improve stadiums and infrastructure. The main contenders are Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay - said Vucic, who added that the candidacy is planned for the European Championship in 2028.

So far, a joint candidacy has been submitted to Mundial in 2030 by Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, as well as Morocco, who independently wants to organize the biggest football competition.

It is expected that Cameroon and Egypt will announce their candidacy, the complete United Kingdom with the Republic of Ireland, as well as Spain and Portugal from Europe, But also South and North Corea, China and Japan.

To recall, Serbia is soon planning to construct the National stadium, and that was recently announced by president Aleksandar Vucic, who said that a Turkish company is interested in this job.
