Tensions are high in Velika Kladusa in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Migrants are walking around armed with rods after a mass fight, the police are on standby
A massive fight broke out yesterday where the police officers suffered injuries
The situation in "Miral" refugee center in Velika Kladusa is still tense although there are no major incidents, Klix.ba writes.
- Tension still exists, and simply put, the situation among them can escalate at any time. The police are on the ground, monitoring the events and are in a state of readiness - said the spokesman of the Police of the Una-Sanski Canton, Ale Siljdelic.
Readers of this portal report that the situation is peaceful in Polje of Velika Kladusa although the migrants from Pakistan are behaving opposite to the rules of conduct so they decided to take the justice into their own hands after the great conflict which happened yesterday.
- Migrants from Pakistan decided to take justice into their own hands. They are searching through the village, they are beating the Algerians and Moroccans - they stated.
The videos published by Klix shows a group of migrants, armed with rods and other items, walking on the road, apparently searching for opponents.
According to the words of the locals, the police are observing everything from the parking near Miral because they don't have adequate staff to seriously deal with the problem.
The conflicts among the migrants are everyday life which culminated in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday when more than 100 people fought, and many of them were hurt. Several police officials suffered injuries who worked to uphold peace and order.
At least nine persons were arrested yesterday when the fight erupted in the refugee center.
The guards hired for the security of the object couldn't handle the perpetrators, so they called the police, but the participants of the conflict attacked the police officers, throwing stones and bottles, and hitting them with metal rods.
After that, the police received reinforcement from Velika Kladusa and Bihac, so the violence was stopped in early morning hours.
Siljdelic warned that the situation among migrants is still tense and that there is a possibility of a new conflict shouldn't be ruled out.
According to information from security agencies, more than seven thousand migrants have entered the country since the beginning of the year.
