Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, along with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, hosted the Trilateral Summit of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Turkey. Members of the BiH Presidency also participated in the Summit.

The summit was held at the Palace of Serbia.

In addition to Vucic and Erdogan, the trilateral's participants were the three members of the BiH Presidency, Zeljko Komsic representing Croats and currently chairing the body, Serb member Milorad Dodik and Bosniak member Sefik Dzaferovic.

He said he would like to see fantasies about how we might help each other, instead of those about how to destroy each other. He expressed confidence that President Erdogan would be welcomed by thousands of people in Raca, as well as the BiH representatives.

"I'm not going to say how fantastic this is for our trade. Today, we were pulling out maps into which we drew highways and railways, but I think we were all looking forward with pleasure to how we can make people's lives better. When you connect people then they think better about coexistence. For us, this ring, which should connect Belgrade and Sarajevo, is very important, in this way we would connect Serbs from Belgrade and Bosniaks from Sarajevo, we would bond, they would be much easier to reach. Three hours' easy drive from Belgrade to Sarajevo," said Vucic.

"Erdogan showed by remaining today how important friendship is. One of the few things we will all agree on is that there was an invisible hand that did not allow communication connections to be formed. I want to inform you that the bridge over the Sava will be built with our own money and (construction) will last 3 years. With that we connect with Bjeljina, it will go to Brcko and Tuzla," said Vucic.

"I express my sincere pleasure at having been able to speak with the members of the Presidency of BiH today and of course with Mr. Erdogan," said Vucic at the beginning of his address.

"I am convinced that we have started a good job today," the president said.

He said the steps to open a new highway would bring Serbia and BiH even closer together.

"I always say that the road is a synonym of civilization and life. This means that people will no longer have to leave their countries. My dear friend Vucic, I would like to thank you once again and I look forward to the upcoming meetings and summits with you," concluded Erdogan.

"Today's meeting was over and after our meeting, which focused on Serbia-Turkey relations, it ended in a very fruitful way. We are determined to continue the trilateral mechanism. I think it will bring nations and countries closer together, but it's also very important that the whole region is thought about and the problems with the BiH government, after 12 months, must be solved, because without a government one cannot operate effectively," said Erdogan.

14:34 - Address by Zeljko Komsic

He thanked the presidents of Serbia and Turkey for the opportunity to discuss topics concerning all three countries.

"New ideas for new railway infrastructure projects have come up, and these are expensive but very useful projects. We in BiH have a great interest in realizing them because they build communication relationships in BiH. I hope that our meetings like this will continue," Komsic said.

"I thank President Vucic for his invitation, President Erdogan for his participation. First of all, I would like to say that Turkey is a stabilizing factor and can help stabilize the situation in the Western Balkans. Each of the countries has bilateral relations, so do ours, and we will be resolving our relations through bilateral dialogue. There are many open issues between us and Serbia that therefore need to be addressed. More intensive cooperation of our institutions is needed. What is important is the Belgrade-Sarajevo (highway) issue, whose start will be formalized in Serbia today. Serbia has completed its obligations both internally and with Turkey, and today the construction of the highway begins," Dzaferovic said.

2:29 PM - Address by Milorad Dodik

The Serb representative in the BiH Presidency thanked the Serbian president for the invitation, and said that the summit also discussed readiness for new investments, in addition to those already agreed on.

"It's the need to preserve political cooperation, stability and peace. Mr. Erdogan's words that any conflict should be avoided are valid for all of us," said Dodik, who also spoke about the problems facing BiH and the Serb entity, the RS.
