Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived last night on a two-day visit to Serbia, and was met at the Belgrade airport by President Aleksandar Vucic.

Today, a formal welcome ceremony will be held in front of the Palace of Serbia, and it will be followed by a meeting between the two presidents.

Ahead of the visit, the flags of China and Serbia decorated the streets of Belgrade. In honor of the arrival of the Chinese president, billboards with inscriptions in Serbian and Chinese were also put up.

"Welcome, respected Chinese friends," the billboards read, while the flags of the two countries are also displayed along the highway leading from the airport.

The Belgrade Tower lit up in the colors of the two flags, as another gesture of welcome.
