Marija looked ordinary two years ago, and now Serbia has a World champion! (PHOTO)

Serbia has a World champion in bodybuilding. Marija Djelic from Nis won a champion title in the Fitness model category in IBFF federation.

In the championship held in Kopro, Slovenia, more than 400 contestants participated, while Serbia had 18 representatives.

- When i raised the Serbian flag on the stand, it was like raising a child. 

- It is the best feeling in the world and i will try to lift our flag at least several more times in the throne. I am especially proud on beating 20 year old girls - said Marija for Niskevesti.com.

Marija is 37 years old, and she has been competing for only a year and two months, and she practiced only 6 months longer. I achieved this kind of success because i worked with sets of weights before. 

It is interesting that she explained through her photos how she became in two years from an ordinary girl, a world champion.

- Well, this is how progress looks like after two years. Genetics has nothing to do with my appearance, as you can see in the first picture. I started working out as a very skinny girl and eating everything i shouldn't. 

- Of course i gained weight, cellulite. Then i decided to compete and in order to drop all of the extra weight, thinking its the right thing to do, after training i went on running every day as much as i could.

- I lost that extra weight but i also lost those muscles i have been building. 

- Since May 2015 i started to be seriously interested how and what to train, and that's why i started training with Slavisa Djordjevic. The changes that fallowed happened with changed diet and training without cardio workout.

- Thrilled and happy with my progress i continued with what showed results. Diet + iron!!! A month, two, five and i got to the title of the WORLD champion!! This is for all of those that blame genes... Its not genes but only hard work and persistence and the faith in what you are doing -  wrote Marija on her Facebook profile.
