An Air Serbia plane on flight JU102 from Belgrade to Bucharest landed safely at the destination airport after a bomb tip-off was sent to the competent services at the airport in Bucharest, the carrier has announced.

As stated by Air Serbia, the bomb report was received during the flight on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

After the plane landed, the competent Romanian services took over the procedure, which is carried out in accordance with valid security protocols, said the Air Serbia press release.

"They did not send a request to Ana Brnabic as the acting president of the Republic to urgently call elections for the president of Serbia, December 27 is the deadline when elections can be held. Which leads us to the conclusion that they are deliberately creating an environment for all this that is happening to happen, that they are not responsible for it, but they have been responsible since October 25," Vucevic told TV Nis.

According to Vucevic, the prosecution and the police are now doing what they (Student List) want, while electronic media regulator REM is setting itself up as a "super body".

This, he added, is an attack not on one television outlet or one party, but on basic values ​​and the state of Serbia, where chaos now reigns.

"I hope that there will be serious people from the student, blockader side who have a sense of responsibility for the state. Whether someone now regrets it or not, they were elected to lead the state. They are masters of twisted definitions," said Vucevic.

Concering the REM session, Vucevic stated that there were a lot of people in front of this body's premises and that they were waiting for a decision.

"It's all quite confusing, it seems pretty amateurish, the REM session. We're watching a reality show, the shutting down of democracy and announcing the arrest of everyone who says something, who dares to criticize the new rulers. There is an 'intermezzo' that's strange," said Vucevic.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad informs the public that today, by order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of this Prosecutor's Office, the suspect Predrag Vuletic, Provincial Secretary for Social Policy, Demography and Gender Equality and D.M., the president of the Commission of the Provincial Secretariat for Social Policy, Demography and Gender Equality for review of applications for allocation of funds, were arrested on suspicion of extended criminal offense of abuse of official position.

In the course of the actions undertaken so far within the framework of the pre-investigative procedure, it was established that there are grounds for suspicion that the suspects Predrag Vuletic and D.M., officials in the province of Vojvodina, in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 abused their official position and authority to secure illegal gains in the amount of 130,900,000 dinars for other persons.

Individuals who were awarded funds in the total amount of 130,900,000 dinars did not even meet the basic condition stipulated in the competition for the award of grants, namely: the birth of a third and/or fourth child.

Predrag Vuletic and D.M. are suspected of damaging the provincial budge by 130,900,000 dinars.

Based on the approval of the Special Department for Combating Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, the suspects Predrag Vuletic and D.M. will be detained for up to 48 hours and then questioned in the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, in accordance with the law.

Predrag Vuletic is a member of the Presidency of the Movement of Socialists, a party headed by Aleksandar Vulin, and over the years he was considered to be one of his closest associates.

Precisely because of this connection, Vuletic held a number of managerial positions, from membership in the Management Board of the Agency for Traffic Safety to the position of provincial secretary.

Milan Vukovic Baka (48), acting director of the Special Detention Unit of the District Prison in Belgrade, was arrested yesterday in the capital, Telegraf.rs has learned.

Vukovic is among a group of police officers who were detained in an extensive operation by the Department of Internal Control of the MUP, and among them is the director of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ), Igor Zmiric (47).

The suspects, as stated, fully aware of the illegality of their actions, as co-perpetrators and officials in the performance of their duties at the Unit for the Security of Certain Persons and Facilities (JZO) of the MUP of Serbia, used force and threats to cause great pain and severe suffering to a number of victims.

Brutal violence was carried out with the aim of extorting information, intimidation and illegal punishment of the victims.

All suspects will be brought to the competent First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade for questioning within the legal deadline.

The Student List has posted on its account on X, Studenti u Blokadi ("Students in Blockade").

"Anyone who did their job in public institutions and companies in an honest manner and according to the law will not be fired from their job," they stated.

"Those who broke the law and stole money belonging to the citizens of Serbia will be held accountable in accordance with the law."

The Student List yesterday held a media conference in Belgrade, where the representatives of this list spoke about three key topics, the banking system, energy security and public resource management.

Special emphasis was placed on energy stability before winter and the work of the Electric Power Company of Serbia. The representatives of the list called on Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic and the management of the company to come forward with the truth about the state of the electric power system.

"Every head of household knows that firewood is not provided in January but in the summer, electricity must be provided in advance," said representatives of the Student List, asking for more information.

When it comes to Petroleum Industry of Serbia, it was emphasized that it remains the "lifeblood" of the Serbian economy, and they insisted on access to all agreements with Russian partners and providing clear guarantees for the continuation of work of the Pancevo Refinery, as well as establishing communication with US institutions for the sake of strategic security.

Aleksandar Vulin, leader of the Movement of Socialists, former minister in several SNS-led governments, and now chairman of the Supervisory Board of Srbijagas, Serbia's public natural gas enterprise, announced that he has arrived in Moscow.

Vulin said that he did not run away, but traveled to Russia, where he will have a series of meetings regarding the extension of the gas arrangement between Serbia and Russia.

Vulin posted a video on Instagram with the caption: I arrived in Moscow.

In the video, he explains that he did not run away, that he would not go anywhere without his family, but also attacks everyone who published information that the plane he was originally on was returned to the Belgrade airport because Vulin himself did not follow the security procedure.

Vulin claims that he is planning a series of meetings in the capital of Russia on the continuation of Serbia's gas arrangement with that country.

The Air Serbia plane on flight JU134, which took off from Belgrade's Nikola Tesla airport to Moscow on Tuesday evening, was returned to Belgrade during the same evening after, according to unofficial information published by the portal Nova.rs, it was determined that Aleksandar Vulin had not passed the security check.

The National Bank of Serbia warned citizens today  who have taken out loans from Alta Banka a.d. Belgrade not to pay money to account numbers given in fraudulent SMS messages, in which the name "AltaPay" appears as the sender's alphanumeric ID, and that they will receive clear information for settling obligations from the Deposit Insurance Agency.

"The NBS has received reports from citizens stating that they have received SMS messages in which the sender is identified by the alphanumeric sender ID 'AltaPay'," the central bank said in a statement.

It added that some citizens have also reported receiving SMS messages from unknown phone numbers urging recipients to settle their loan obligations by making payments to specified bank accounts held with Banka Postanska Stedionica.

"We wish to warn citizens and all clients of Alta Banka a.d. Beograd - in bankruptcy and Alta Group d.o.o. Beograd not to make any payments in response to such or similar SMS messages or any emails with similar content. Citizens who have loans with Alta Banka a.d. Beograd - in bankruptcy will receive timely and clear information and instructions on how to settle their obligations going forward, exclusively from the Deposit Insurance Agency, which has taken over the management of the bank," the NBS said.

The statement added that citizens who have loans granted by Alta Banka a.d. Beograd - in bankruptcy should wait for a notification from the Deposit Insurance Agency specifying the bank and the account number to which they should make their loan repayments going forward. They should under no circumstances act on suspicious SMS messages from unknown senders or any e-mails of a similar nature.

The NBS immediately notified Banka Postanska Stedionica so that it could take appropriate measures regarding the account number cited in one of the SMS messages to which the NBS had access. The NBS also requested that Postanska Stedionica step up its monitoring of suspicious transactions, i.e. inflows.

"Vulin, Popovic and I were on the plane, alive and well and we landed twice," Dusan Bajatovic, director of Srbijagas public state enterprise and honorary consul of Russia in the Serbian province of Vojvodina, told Blic today. Bajatovic commented on the fact that he departed for Moscow yesterday afternoon, but landed at his destination seven hours late.

Aleksandar Vulin, president of the Supervisory Board of Srbijagas, and Nenad Popovic, former minister without portfolio, were on the same plane.

But the Air Serbia flight JU 134 that this trio was on took an unusual path; the plane took off, and after several hours returned to Belgrade, then left for Moscow again and early this morning finally arrived in the capital of Russia.

This is why Bajatovic was traveling to Moscow

The return of the flight was confirmed by Air Serbia in a statement saying that the plane that was on the regular flight JU134 on the Belgrade-Moscow route returned to Belgrade after that company received information from the competent airport services that required the implementation of additional security checks concerning one passenger.

Although Aleksandar Vulin and Nenad Popovic were also on the plane, Bajatovic tells Blic that they did not travel for the same reason and that his trip to Russia is related to problems in gas supply and payment transactions concerning the Alta Banka case.

Previously, he told the media last night that they were officially informed that the plane returned to Belgrade because of security procedures and added that Aleksandar Vulin and Nenad Popovic were on the flight, along with about 150 passengers, mostly Russian citizens.

"Only when we landed in Belgrade, we were informed that we had to go through a completely new procedure, all the luggage was checked in detail without giving any particular reasons why it was done, except that it was according to the procedure. Therefore, the delay was a little longer," Bajatovic told N1.

After landing in Belgrade, he says, they were taken over by the police.

"We went to a completely separate checkpoint and a detailed inspection of all the passengers on the plane and their luggage was carried out. And now we are waiting for the third bus to arrive, and this flight to Moscow will continue," he said while the situation was developing last night.

He could not confirm allegations that Vulin failed security checks, that is, that his luggage was not checked before take-off.

"I expect to see him on the plane," Bajatovic said.

He added that he was not seeing anything "bad or suspicious" happening at the airport.

When asked if he communicated with Vulin and Popovic during the initial flight, he stated:

"To be honest with you, we said hello, but I was sleeping the whole time. Only when we landed in Belgrade, and when the captain said that we landed in Belgrade, I then became aware of what was happening," Bajatovic stated.

The European Commission's assessment from previous years that Serbia has met the benchmarks for opening Cluster 3 (Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth) and that the cluster is technically ready to be opened remains in force, according to a draft 2026 Enlargement Package that Tanjug has seen.

The document, which will be presented today in Brussels by European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, includes European Commission reports about 10 countries seeking to join the European Union. It also states that the overall pace of Serbia's accession negotiations continues to depend on progress in the areas of the rule of law and the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

The report, covering the period from 1 September 2025 to 1 September 2026, recalls that since Serbia's accession negotiations began in January 2014, 22 of the 35 negotiating chapters have been opened, including all chapters under Cluster 1 (Fundamentals) and Cluster 4 (Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity). Two chapters have also been provisionally closed.

"Achieving Serbia's objectives in the EU accession negotiations requires strong political will, implementation of the necessary reforms, a whole-society approach, effective policy planning and coordination, as well as ensuring sufficient human and financial resources across all institutions involved in the accession process," the report states.

It also notes that anti-European narratives remain present in Serbian media and among political officials. The report claims that the funeral of Ratko Mladic in September 2026, attended by senior state and military officials, contributed to the glorification of Mladic in a manner that contradicts the values underpinning Serbia's path towards European Union membership.

The report further states that early parliamentary elections were held on 25 October and that, according to preliminary results, the "Student List", which emerged from a mass movement of students and citizens, won an absolute majority of parliamentary seats.

The document also addresses the EU-facilitated Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, noting that domestic political preoccupations on both sides have prevented decisive steps towards implementing the 2023 Agreement on the Path to Normalization and its Implementation Annex, thereby hindering progress in normalizing relations.

37 kilograms of heroin have been seized in Kosovo and Metohija, and five people have been arrested.

The minister of internal Affairs of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Xhelal Svecla, said that the market value of the seized drugs is more than half a million euros.

"Five suspects were arrested for participation in an organized criminal group and unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution and sale of narcotic drugs," Svecla added in a post on Facebook.

The location where the drugs were seized has not been specified.

An Air Serbia plane flying on the route JU134 from Belgrade to Moscow was forced last night to return to the Nikola Tesla Airport in the Serbian capitaly shortly after take-off, due to extraordinary security checks related to one passenger, the national carrier has announced.

According to unofficial information from the airport's surveillance cameras, this occurred because Aleksandar Vulin's luggage allegedly did not pass a complete KD (counter-diversion) check before boarding.

Among the passengers was also the director of Srbijagas, Serbia's public natural gas company, Dusan Bajatovic, and the president of the Serbian People's Party (SNP) Nenad Popovic.

The Airbus A320 named after basketballer Vlade Divac took off from Belgrade at 18:48 last night, but the trip was interrupted after instructions from the airport services.

"In accordance with the received instructions and all valid safety regulations, the decision was made to return the plane to Belgrade so that all necessary procedures are fully implemented. The control of passengers and baggage is carried out under the jurisdiction of the airport security system and the corresponding services," Air Serbia announced, stressing that the crew reacted strictly according to regulations and the highest safety standards.

The aircraft landed back in Belgrade around 22:00, after which a complete counter-diversion and security inspection of the passenger in question, other passengers and all the baggage was conducted.

Only after the competent services had completed all the checks, the plane took off again for Moscow deep into the night - at 01:56. According to flight tracking service Flightradar24, flight JU134 arrived at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport at 06:43 local time.

This extraordinary event has led to a large chain of delays. JU135's return flight from Moscow to Belgrade, which was scheduled to depart at 00:40, took off only at 08:12 in the morning - more than seven hours late.

The plane is currently in the air and, according to the latest radar service estimates, it is expected to land at the Belgrade airport soon.

The Ministry of Justice of the Government of the Republic of Serbia announced that it has submitted the decisions made by the president of the Republic of Serbia to pardon 49 persons to the competent courts, acting in line with the law and procedures.

In a statement published on Instagram, the Ministry of Justice stated that it could not publish the list of pardoned persons before it was officially submitted to the competent courts.

It is further explained that institutional responsibility dictates that judicial authorities be previously and officially informed of decisions related to cases under their jurisdiction.

Only after the submission of the documentation to the competent institutions was completed, conditions were met for the Ministry of Justice to publish the list.

The sequence of actions of the Ministry of Justice was conditioned by the need to first ensure proper notification of the judicial authorities and compliance with the law, the Ministry stated and added that the right to pardon is an express constitutional authority of the president of the Republic of Serbia, stipulated in Article 112 of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia.

"The mere use of this constitutional authority does not represent interference in the work of the judicial authority nor is it, in itself, abuse of official position. The opposite interpretation would call into question the very purpose of the instrument of pardon, which exists precisely as an exception to regular implementation of criminal legal proceedings," the statement emphasized.

The Commercial Court in Belgrade today initiated the bankruptcy process in Alta Banka (Alta Bank). The Deposit Insurance Agency has been appointed as the bankruptcy administrator.

Previously, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced that, following supervisory activities and a temporary measure, with the aim of protecting depositors and other creditors and preventing the spread of any negative effects on society and the economy, it revoked the operating licence of Alta Banka a.d. Belgrade.

The National Bank of Serbia announced on Monday that within three business days of the date on which the Commercial Court in Belgrade issues its decision to initiate bankruptcy proceedings against Alta Banka, a notice will be published specifying the terms, locations and deadlines for the payment of insured deposits.

By order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, D.K, the director of the Public Utility Company Drina from Mali Zvornik, was arrested on suspicion of abusing office.

According to the prosecution's statement, it is suspected that during 2025 D.K. used his position to enable the implementation of public procurement in which the bidder was chosen in advance, and the tender documentation was adapted to that particular company.

After the procedure was completed, the suspect signed a contract with the selected bidder on the basis of which over 13 million dinars were paid to the company, although false documents were attached to the offer as proof of the fulfillment of the procurement conditions.

The suspect will spend up to 48 hours in police custody after which he will be brought to the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption in Novi Sad along with a criminal complaint.

The prosecutor's office stated that they continue the proactive investigation and collection of evidence about the misuse of public funds, with an appeal to all state bodies, especially the police, to provide full contribution and cooperation in shedding light on corruption among public office holders at all levels.

The leader of the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" election list, Aleksandar Vucic, spoke by phone with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who Vucic said told him that he should be proud of the results of the well-thought-out domestic and foreign policy he led as the president of Serbia.

"My dear friend, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoye called me on the phone and told me that, after many years of serving my country as president, I should be proud of the results of the 'well considered internal and foreign policy' that I led, because Serbia achieved significant successes, which strengthened its reputation on the international stage," Vucic said in a post on Instagram.

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced on Monday that within three business days of the date on which the Commercial Court in Belgrade issues its decision to initiate bankruptcy proceedings against Alta Banka, a notice will be published specifying the terms, locations and deadlines for the payment of insured deposits.

This and other relevant information for the bank's clients will be published in the media and on the website of the Deposit Insurance Agency (www.aod.rs), the NBS announced.

"In connection with the bankruptcy proceedings against ALTA Banka a.d. Beograd and the actions to be taken by individuals and businesses that held business accounts with the bank, we wish to point out that the Deposit Insurance Agency is the competent authority for matters relating to the conduct of the bank's bankruptcy proceedings, as well as the handling of the bank's assets and liabilities. Accordingly, both individuals and businesses may contact the Deposit Insurance Agency directly for information on how to exercise their rights," the central bank said in a statement.

Following the adoption of the decision by the NBS to revoke the operating licence of ALTA Banka a.d. Beograd, the conditions for initiating bankruptcy proceedings against the bank were met, the NBS said.

"In order for the Deposit Insurance Agency to assume the role of bankruptcy administrator, the competent court must issue a decision appointing the Agency as the bankruptcy administrator. Once this has been done, the Agency will be able to access the bank's documentation and data and undertake activities within its remit," the statement said.

"Given that businesses have also raised concerns regarding their inability to deposit daily takings into their business accounts within the prescribed deadline due to the bank ceasing operations, they may also contact the Ministry of Finance for information and clarification on how to proceed in the specific circumstances, including the possibility of fulfilling their obligations in accordance with the regulations governing fiscal operations," the NBS announced.

On the order of the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (JTOK), in cooperation with officers from the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP), the Service for Combating Organized Crime (SBPOK), and the Department for Combating Organized Financial Crime, three individuals were arrested today: Davor Macura, the person responsible for the management of Alta Banka a.d. Belgrade; G.M., Director of the Treasury and Cash Management Department at Alta Banka a.d.; I.P., an associate responsible for treasury operations at Alta Banka a.d.

On October 31 and November 1, 2026, searches were carried out at Alta Banka a.d. premises and at a residential property belonging to suspect Davor Macura, acting on the order of the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime. During the search of the bank's premises, an inventory was conducted of the cash held in the vault.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, there are grounds to suspect that Davor Macura committed the criminal offence of abuse of position by a person in a responsible position, while the other suspects allegedly assisted him in committing the offence.

There are grounds to suspect that, during the preceding period and up until October 31, 2026, Davor Macura committed the said criminal offence by exceeding the limits of his authority. The other suspects, G.M. and I.P., allegedly facilitated the offence by creating the conditions necessary for its commission, as they were responsible for the direct handling of valuables held in Alta Banka's vault.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, they provided Macura with access cards to the vault or used their own cards and physical presence to enable him to enter the bank's Depo vault without authorization. Davor Macura allegedly removed money from the vault, thereby obtaining an unlawful financial gain amounting to approximately 45 billion dinars.

The suspects are in police custody that can last up to 48 hours, and will next be brought before the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime for questioning.

The Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime will keep the public informed in a timely manner about all measures and activities undertaken in connection with this case.

UAE billionaire and Serbia’s business partner in the development of the Belgrade Waterfront project Mohamed Alabbar recently sold his apartment in that part of Belgrade, Forbes Srbija is reporting.

The property is a large 344-square-metre penthouse in BW Residences, one of the first buildings constructed in the development, according to information from the Serbian Real Estate Cadastre.

When Forbes checked in July whether Alabbar had actually fulfilled his promise made a decade ago to buy an apartment in Belgrade Waterfront, the property was still registered in his name in the cadastre. Now, however, a notice recorded under his name in the registry suggests that the apartment has been sold.

The cadastre records what is known as a pre-registration of ownership, with a deadline for confirmation that had been set for December 14, 2026.

What does this mean in practice? Anyone potentially interested in the property is being notified that a sale agreement has been reached. The buyer has until the specified deadline to pay the agreed amount and complete the purchase.

Eagle Hills' comment

To verify whether Alabbar has in fact sold his apartment, Forbes Srbija requested a comment from his company, Eagle Hills, which is developing Belgrade Waterfront in partnership with the Serbian state.

The company confirmed that Alabbar has sold the apartment.

"The transaction relates to Mr. Alabbar's private property affairs, and publicly available information reflects the relevant details," the company told Forbes Srbija.

President of the Assembly of Serbia and Acting President of the Republic Ana Brnabic said today that she will convene the constituent session of the new convocation of the Assembly as soon as the Election Commission (RIK) announces the final results of the early parliamentary elections.

"Since it is within my competence to convene the National Assembly as soon as RIK announces the final results, to confirm the mandates, I will do it in the shortest possible time, and after that, the deadline for them to form the government starts running," Brnabic told TV Pink.

She pointed out that the SNS wants to establish institutions quickly, which is why they did not raise any objections during the election process, although she said there were grounds for it.

"There were grounds for it at every polling station. At every polling station, they (Student List) harassed, bullied, broke the law, showed the number three, played music. They literally harassed people, instilled fear into th people who were there to vote for some other option. We did not file objections so that institutions could be formed quickly," Brnabic said.

She called on the winning electoral list to quickly form institutions and to work according to the Constitution and the law or declare "state terror".

"Form institutions, people, and then respect the laws and the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia. Or say: 'This is now state terror.'

She added that the list "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" asks the RIK to quickly announce the final results of the election, because after that the deputies of that party will be able to defend people and laws through the institutions.

"That is why we are asking for the Assembly to convene quickly, for RIK to announce the results as soon as possible, because then at least we as deputies from the institutions and the highest institution, which is the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, can point out these things. We can work, we can defend people, we can defend laws. As much as we can, we will defend and we will fight," emphasized Brnabic.

She said that the representatives of the Student List showed that they are not interested in institutional struggle, laws and the rule of law, but instead want to lead Serbia with directives that will be announced by "plenary commissioners".

"They have already told us: 'Well, we are not interested in the institutions, we are absolutely not interested in the Constitution, we are not interested in the laws, we are not interested in the rule of law. We hold plenum press conferences in the park and we want to lead Serbia with directives that will be announced by some plenum commissioners and we will, regardless of the laws and the Constitution, determine who should resign and who should not. We will harass them through legal proceedings if they do not want to resign'," said Brnabic.

"Our first step when we form the government will be to establish the rule of law, and those who are said to be destroying documentation in some institutions these days, which is evidence of criminal acts, will not get away with it," said Ilija Srdanovic, who was the first candidate on the Student List.

Several days after early parliamentary elections, the main question is what is the plan and what are the first steps of the new government going to be. On Sunday, November 1, elections were repeated at 53 polling stations in Serbia, which is why the formation of a new government is postponed.

What will be the first steps of the new government? Who could be the new prime minister and ministers?

Now we are waiting for the repeat voting in more than 50 polling stations to be over, although that will not be able to influence the final result in terms of changing the number of mandates, but for legitimacy they (final election results) need to be declared by the election commission in its entirety. Then we effectively start the stopwatch, which will count down the days until the constitution of the new government. The first steps of the new government will be related to the rule of law and taking over the most important management mechanisms in the executive power, which will ensure equality for all. It's still too early to speculate about the name of the new prime minister and the names of ministers. Only when we get the final election results can we talk about it. As for the future prime minister and ministers, there are a number of quality candidates on the list for those positions, which is still too early to talk about.

Are there any announcements about new arrests in institutions?

All upcoming arrests will be made in accordance with the law, wherever there is evidence of criminal acts, which will be dealt with by the prosecution. If they have proof of committed criminal acts by any person, who is a participant in politics or any other part of life, in the economy, public sector, the prosecution will initiate proceedings. You've seen what was in store for the undisputed ruler and the so-called owner of Jovina Gymnasium, who is in custody today because he abused the law and did not respect court decisions. Adequate measures will be provided for anyone who has violated the law, especially the criminal procedure.

What is the message for people in institutions who are destroying evidence of crimes these days?

If something like that happened in institutions, people who do such things must be made aware that it is a criminal offense and that anyone who incites, does or in some way conceals it, will be an accomplice in a criminal offense and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. Just burning the paper is not enough to hide all the traces that exist. There is also something called the electronic form, and IT forensic procedures can easily retrieve information that they have tried to hide. It's also quite a funny and theatrical way in which someone maybe wants to intimidate and send the message that we won't know how we're going to deal with it. We know very well in what ways we can prevent this kind of abuse by institutions. We encourage people who are honest and work in institutions to prevent such occurrences, and if they are physically unable to do so, then to report them to the competent authorities.

As we heard from your colleague from the Student List, Nemanja Karovic, Telekom paid Informer between 500,000 and 700,000 euros per month, and that there was an attempt to take 1 billion dinars out of Postanska Stedionica. Can you tell us more about that?

We absolutely stand behind everything that colleague Karovic presented. These are inadmissible things, especially those related to certain media, which were mentioned on that occasion and for which there are facts and which will be most strictly sanctioned in the future. Spending budget funds, budget money, on such types of newsrooms is unacceptable and will not be allowed in the future.

What is your comment on the ultimatums sent by the new owners to the journalists of Nova, as well as the announcement of dismissal of freelance employees in the weekly Radar and the shutdown of the Nova newspaper?

In our program, media freedom for all is outlined as a fundamental value of a society. Media freedom is a fundamental human right and something we stand for. Freedom of editorial policy must be respected in accordance with our law. Nobody can interfere in the editorial policy of an outlet.

Aleksandar Vucic said during the weekend that it must be investigated how Alta Bank's license was revoked.

"And if you look at the current situation where there is no positive news, instead of dealing with how they are going to solve the problems of the citizens. They should call for a conversation as soon as possible, to see what caused it, what led to Alta Bank and all that happened," he said and added:

"Because it's very complicated, and it's very difficult for me to fully understand what it's about, and why maybe they didn't wait another 7 or 8 days, and why they were in a hurry. I assume that the people at the National Bank wanted to protect themselves and acted in accordance with the regulations, I have no doubt about that. But it's all a bit strange to me," he said.

Vucic also said he would have acted differently in their place.

"What worries me, and what I want to say to the citizens, what really worries me, is that these people are accountable to someone, and that someone is not the citizens of Serbia. Under all circumstances, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs safeguards official documentation responsibly and professionally, handling it exclusively in accordance with the law and internal regulations. The claims published on social media and reported by certain media outlets are completely untrue.

We strongly condemn the spread of this untruth, which misleads the public and damages the reputation of the Ministry and its employees.

Dejan Soskic, one of the leaders of the Student List and former governor of the National Bank of Serbia, spoke for the Croatian agency Medija Servis to say that the new government of Serbia will invite Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he referred to as brotherly, to cooperation, as well as other neighbors.

Soskic pointed out that the new Government of Serbia wants to be a constructive partner in the stabilization and progress of the region, and he extended an invitation for cooperation to Sarajevo.

"The call for cooperation is not only towards Croatia, but also towards our brotherly Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and of course, Slovenia," said Soskic.

Speaking about relations in the region, he referred to the statement of the president of Croatia that it is hard to find two nations in Europe that are closer than Croats and Serbs.

"It would be completely irrational if we did not have good-neighborly relations with such a degree of closeness. It's very important to get out of the narrative and rhetoric of the '90s. I am sure that the new government of Serbia will be a constructive partner in all efforts to stabilize the region and make progress," he said.

Soskic, a professor of economics, believes that Serbia, when the conditions for joining the European Union are met, should hold a referendum.

"I personally have always been in favor of European integration. We need to see and feel directly that the European Union sincerely wants Serbia in its ranks," he said.

Regarding Kosovo and Metohija, he said that the Constitution of Serbia is clear.

"Kosovo is an integral part of the Republic of Serbia. Therefore, Kosovo and Metohija is our province," he said, adding that one of the binding resolutions of the UN Security Council that directly supports Serbia's territorial sovereignty over Kosovo.

Deputy leader of the Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), President of the Serbian National Assembly, and acting President of the Republic Ana Brnabic spoke today from the Presidency of Serbia.

"What we have beeen witnessing since election night is inadmissible and must not continue," said Brnabic at the beginning and added:

"I called this public conference as acting president of the Republic of Serbia, in order to once again, from this place, call for reason, for peace, for respect of the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Serbia, for respect for the institutions of this country that have been built over centuries, and finally, to call for basic human decency and respect for the dignity of every person in this country."

"What we have been witnessing in the last few days, to be precise, since the results of the early parliamentary elections were announced, that is, since the evening of October 25, what we have all been able to witness, what happened in this country, is absolutely unacceptable and must not continue," Brnabic said.

"Some people behaved responsibly even in defeat, some were irresponsible even in victory, but I call on everyone to be peaceful," she stressed.

Brnabic added, addressing the Student List, "You won, form the authorities, don't let the thugs harass us."

"This is not the rule of law, this is the rule of terror," she said citing invasions of the premises of Informer TV, Pink TV, Srbijavode public company, the municipality of Zemun...

Replying to journalists' questions, Brnabic said that in line with the Constitution, presidential elections will be scheduled by November 27 at the latest.

"A rapid formation of institutions is the most important thing," Brnabic stated.

Students in the blockade today held a press conference in Pionirski Park in Belgrade.

"In the elections, the citizens gave a clear mandate for the rule of law. We are starting to implement that mandate immediately, without waiting for the formation of the government. We invite you to report any destruction of documentation and any abuse, we rely on honorable people, managers, journalists, prosecutors... Many of you were faithful under pressure, now we invite you to break free and report any abuse," said one of the representatives.

"They are already contacting us as whistleblowers, that's why we created the e-mail uzbunjivaci@studenti.org.rs where you can all report abuses," they invited the citizens.

"We demand the immediate removal of Vladimir Lucic as the head of Telekom and an immediate stop to the waste of money," they said, adding more demands such as "the immediate dismissal of all police officers who broke the law, as well as many leaders in the MUP" and immediate and irrevocable resignation of the BIA director.

"It is necessary to assign competent superiors to all positions in order to enable unhindered functioning. We also call on all those who were unfairly dismissed to return to their jobs," they said.

"The Student List requests from the chief public prosecutor for organized crime to urgently take action in all cases in which the public is interested and to immediately inform the public about it," they stated.

"We will make an urgent inventory in public institutions, including finances, public procurement and assumed obligations, and we invite citizens to report suspicious actions. All contracts and public procurement will be examined in line with the law. We have not come to commit revenge, but to return the institutions to the citizens."

This was the first press conference after election day, October 25, where they announced that they will present specific goals and talk about the next steps of the student movement.

"After a historic election day, we continue to communicate clearly and openly with the public about everything that follows," they said.

A ball python was found in the yard of an elementary school in New Belgrade, Telegraf.rs has learned. The snake was found by a man who was cleaning the yard. It was curled up and quite scared, as it later hissed at anyone who tried to take him.

The school administration reacted quickly and called the authorities who took the python away. It turned out to be a baby, about 40 centimeters long, so there was a fear that its mother was somewhere nearby.

However, according to unofficial information, a man called and confirmed that the python was his and that it had "fallen out of his backpack".

The ball python is one of the most popular pet snakes because of its gentle nature and relatively easy maintenance. It originates from West and Central Africa. It belongs to the smaller pythons, and adults usually reach a length between 1.2 and 1.5 meters, with females generally larger than males.

They are very calm and rarely show aggression, which makes them ideal for beginners. They got their name from their specific defensive reaction, when they are scared or feel threatened, they curl up into a tight ball and hide their head in the middle.

Voting in the parliamentary elections held in Serbia on October 25 will be repeated on Sunday, November 1, at 53 polling stations, the Election Commission (RIK) decided at last night's session held in Belgrade.

A total of 24,438 voters have the right to cast their ballots at these polling stations.

Voting is repeated at 31 polling stations where it was not possible to determine the results and at 22 polling stations where voting was annulled.

Following early parliamentary elections, voting to elect the new president of the Republic of Serbia is also expected soon. Although Ana Brnabic, the president of the National Assembly who is now also acting president of the Republic, has not yet called the presidential election, it must be held no later than December 27, since former President Aleksandar Vucic resigned on September 27.

Under the law, the period between the calling of the election and election day must be no shorter than 30 days and no longer than 60 days.

According to the law, presidential elections must be called at least 30 days before election day, which in this case means the final deadline is November 27.

The election is administered by the bodies also responsible for conducting elections for the National Assembly: the Republic Electoral Commission, local electoral commissions, and polling station committees.

The order of candidates on the ballot paper is determined by a draw held at a session of the Republic Electoral Commission, attended by representatives of those nominating the candidates.

Election day must be a non-working day. Any adult citizen of the Republic of Serbia who has not had parental rights extended over them and/or who has not been completely deprived of legal capacity has the right to vote for, and stand in the presidential election.

Candidates are nominated by submitting a nomination directly to the Republic Electoral Commission, in both written and electronic form. The nomination must be submitted no later than 20 days before election day.

Along with the nomination, each nominating party must submit at least 10,000 signatures supporting the proposed candidate. These must be collected using a form issued by the Republic Electoral Commission, and notarized before the nomination deadline expires.

Djordjevic: Final results in about 10 days

Although the final results of the early parliamentary elections are still pending, preliminary data from the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) indicates that the student-backed list could win 140 seats in the National Assembly, while the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" list would have 104 parliamentary seats. Four minority lists would win a combined total of six seats, which would allow the Student List to form a government on its own.

Constitutional law expert Miroslav Djordjevic told Euronews Serbia that, despite the political electoral process being effectively complete, all legally prescribed requirements must still be met for the election results to be formally recognized through the appropriate institutions.

The final results could be known in about 10 days.

According to Djordjevic, the announcement of the final results could be affected by any objections, appeals to the Administrative Court, and the possibility of repeated voting at individual polling stations if serious irregularities are established.

"In the best case scenario, the process could be completed in around 10 to 15 days. It's possible that this could get somewhat extended," Djordjevic said, noting that the electoral process involves a series of statutory deadlines for ruling on objections and appeals.

He assessed that election day on October 25 and the political transition proceeded peacefully, which he said was significant for the development of democratic culture in Serbia. Djordjevic added that, based on developments so far, he does not expect any systemic obstruction of the completion of the electoral process.

A teenager from the vicinity of Sabac, whose family reported him missing yesterday, has been neutralized during a terrorist attack in Belgrade.

The drama that started yesterday afternoon as a search for Dario Nikolic (18) from Bela Reka near Sabac has had a gruesome outcome. While the worried father was appealing for help last night in an interview with the Telegraf.rs portal, not knowing where his son was, the youth was preparing for a terrorist act that he carried out at midnight in front of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade, where he was shot and killed by a gendarme, who was acting in self-defense.

According to his family, Nikolic left his village for Sabac yesterday, to get a haircut. He was last seen in the BIG shopping center, and he made contact with his mother around 16:00 hours. After that, his phone became unavailable and the family alerted the police.

Last night, Telegraf.rs reporters got in touch with Dario's father, who was at that moment waiting for any news about his son.

Just a few hours after the conversation with the family, around 15 minutes after midnight, a terrorist attack took place in front of the Israeli embassy in Belgrade. Dario Nikolic shouted "Allahu Akbar" and attacked D.S., a member of the Belgrade Gendarmerie, who was guarding the facility. The attacker was armed with two knives.

The gendarme who was attacked received a cut on his face, after which he drew his service weapon in self-defense and fired several shots, neutralizing the attacker on the spot.

Outgoing Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic confirmed the details of the attack and pointed out that the security level has been raised to the highest level.

"A person, who is suspected to be from Sabac, attacked a member of the Gendarmerie with two knives while shouting 'Allahu Akbar'. Our services monitored him and it is known that he was a supporter of Islamic State, he had a black flag and symbols of that organization on his Instagram profile. A member of the Gendarmerie killed the attacker in self-defense, and was himself was lightly injured," said Dacic, adding that the threat level in Serbia was raised to red alert because of this, with increased patrols at key locations and objects of public importance.

According to available information, Nikolic was previously deported from Germany due to his radical Islamist views and posts on social networks.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade announced that the on-duty prosecutor conducted an investigation at the scene, and that it was determined that the use of firearms by the police officer was fully justified and carried out in self-defense. The work to establish all the circumstances and motives behind this terrorist act continues.

In recent days, after the parliamentary elections held in Serbia on Sunday, October 25, rumors appeared that Sapic had resigned. However, he has now denied these allegations.

Aleksandar Sapic was elected mayor of Belgrade on June 20, 2022, and re-elected on June 24, 2024.

Vucic expressed concern about the previous night's storming of TV Informer premises:

"In 14 years, we have not banned any television station, even though they said a hundred times worse things than you said about them (Student List)."

After that, he revealed that he spoke with many high-ranking European officials, including Viktor Orban, Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni, and Antonio Costa, and then announced a meeting with Viktor Orban.

"I believe that I will see Viktor Orban in the next few days in Belgrade, since we will fight together."

Vucic also spoke to the behavior of the police.

"If the police don't want to protect them, the situation is a bit more favorable today than yesterday. We will organize ourselves, we will be able to protect people," Vucic said, adding that he expects the SNS to return to power in two years.

The Student List (SL) announced last night that the election process has not yet ended and called on citizens to preserve the dignity and non-violent character of the struggle, stressing that all those who are proven to have violated the law in the past will be held accountable after the new government is formed.

"After the magnificent and unequivocal victory in the elections, it is important to emphasize a few things. The election process is still going on and it is up to us to secure every mandate so that our future government will be even more stable and strong," SL said in a statement published on X.

They pointed out that the outgoing regime conceding defeat does not replace legal and institutional procedures.

"It is not up to us to pass judgment on all those who violated human rights and captured institutions - but up to those institutions which, after the formation of the government, we will liberate. Therefore, our victory does not mark the end, it marks the beginning of a very long process of rebuilding our country," said the Student List.

They added that "anyone who has not sinned against their neighbor has nothing to worry about - those who have sinned against the state and our society will be held institutionally responsible" when the government is formed and SL candidates are sworn in at the National Assembly.

"Anyone whose guilt is proven will be held accountable before the law, thus we will begin the process of rehabilitating our country and establishing functional institutions that will work for the people, not personal and party interests. We understand the euphoria, impatience and accumulated anger, we know that you expect justice - that's why we assure you that it will happen, that the institutions will finally start doing their job and that our future deputies will stand up for all of you", they said.

They additionally claim that the outgoing government will do everything to portray the Student List in a bad light.

"From incitement and provocation to causing incidents, but as before, we will not fall for their cheap tricks, that's why we cherish dignity and honesty which marked our struggle," they add.

They called on the citizens to continue to cultivate non-violence and dignity, thanking them for their trust and patience during the struggle.

"Our struggle is non-violent, so far we have persevered in it and secured victory, now it is necessary to maintain the maturity and dignity that our national movement cherishes," the statement said.

A Telegraf.rs portal team is at the scene outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, where a terrorist attack took place shortly after midnight, according to an official statement issued by Serbia's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).

Two fully equipped special police officers are currently stationed outside the building, securing the location where a violent confrontation occurred just 15 minutes after midnight.

Outgoing Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic confirmed that the incident was an act of terrorism and that the attacker was a minor who assaulted an on duty member of the Gendarmerie.

"A minor, whose identity has not yet been established but who is reasonably suspected to be from Sabac, attacked a member of the Gendarmerie with two knives while shouting 'Allahu Akbar'," Dacic said.

Gendarme reacts in split second

Although caught by surprise, the gendarme reacted professionally and calmly, using his service weapon in self-defense.

"The Gendarmerie officer neutralized (shot and killed) the attacker in self-defense, but was also lightly injured in the incident, sustaining a cut to his face from a knife used in the attack,” the minister stated.

Dacic, together with Police Director General Dragan Vasiljevic, visited the injured Gendarmerie officer. The officer is feeling well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital later in the day.

Attacker was under surveillance for ISIS links

Although the official identification process is still underway, police already had information about the individual’s extremist activities.

"The investigation is ongoing, and all the details will be known during the night. Although his identity has not yet been established, our service had been monitoring him, and it is known that he was a supporter of the Islamic State. His Instagram profile displayed a black flag and the symbol of the Islamic State," said Dacic.

Red terrorism alert across country

After the MUP classified the incident as a terrorist attack, the country's security services moved to the highest state of alert.

"Given that a terrorist attack has occurred in our territory, as interior minister responsible for this matter, I have raised the terrorism threat level to the highest possible level, namely to red alert,” Dacic announced.

This measure involves increased security checks and a greater police presence at all key locations of security importance, including critical infrastructure facilities and public places where large numbers of people gather.

The investigation is ongoing.

The leader of the "United Serbia" election list, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that all members of his family are in Serbia and that none of them will ever leave the country.

"People asked me this morning, 'How come you're smiling so much?'... Let me reveal the secret and why you can be smiling: when you prepare yourself for the worst, when you know who you are dealing with, when you know how many irresponsible and bad people you are dealing with, you say to yourself, 'Are you ready to make the sacrifice?' And I was telling you that during the campaign, too, but no one believed me," Vucic said on Tuesday during the marking of the SNS patron saint day, St. Petka, held in Novi Sad.

He pointed out that the SNS has never threatened anyone, as well as that the party never shut down any TV station, and added that its political opponents cannot stand that anyone is thinking differently than them.

Vucic stressed that people from the SNS never demolished any other party's premises and never, like their political opponents, looted and destroyed Serbia, leaving 550,000 people out of work.

"I've seen all this many times since 2000. I saw how strong and powerful they were for a whole year, harassing whoever they could, and after that, they got very humble in every way," said Vucic.

He added that the political opponents of the SNS cannot bear that there is someone who thinks differently, and believe that they have the right to beat, kill, persecute.

"Gentlemen, you do not have that right. If the state fails to enable us to work in peace, we have no other choice, we will have to defend our lives ourselves. And we will defend them," said Vucic.

He stressed that the SNS wants the Student List to form a government as soon as possible and "demonstrate their enormous knowledge and bring in all their advisers from Montenegro".

"Let them come to an agreement as they wish, let them do whatever they want, but in line with the law. So let's see for how long the citizens of Serbia will put up with it," said Vucic.

Vucic noted that he has never before seen someone want to humiliate, beat, and harass those who received votes from 1.7 million people, and added that the political opponents of SNS are insapable of sending a single message of reconciliation, uninity, or urge for the calming of the situation.

Professor Ilija Srdanovic, the first candidate on the electoral list "Student List" spoke about the plans this group that on Sunday won the parliamentary election in Serbia has for EXPO 2027, the beginning of which has been announced for May 15, 2027 in Belgrade.

In an interview with the BBC, he said that it was an international project and that "there are certain guarantees that Serbia has given as a country".

"We will coordinate everything that is necessary in accordance with the international obligations we have undertaken. But what is much more important in Serbia is what is left for the Serbian citizen from EXPO? Where will he see his interest in EXPO? Can we secure benefits for the citizens of Serbia through this project? It is not a part of our student plan. It only relates to the part of creating institutions that function and can, in a high-quality manner, transparently check the flow of money for all public investments," said Srdanovic.

The EXPO 2027 complex in Surcin, Beglrade, represents one of the most extensive investment projects in the recent history of Serbia, which includes a new fairground, the National Stadium, the accompanying railway and road infrastructure, as well as thousands of new housing units.

The residential complex alone will have 160,000 square meters, or 1,500 apartments.

The Aquatics Center is also planned, which, as announced, will be a modern complex dedicated to water sports, along with accompanying infrastructure.

The leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) Ivica Dacic thanked everyone who voted for that party in the parliamentary elections and pointed out that the SPS will rise even stronger, while that it is necessary to preserve peace in Serbia.

"Thank you to everyone who voted for us in impossible conditions and atmosphere. Life consists of ups and downs. It's not terrible to fall, it's important to get up. As always, we will rise up, even stronger. We all need to preserve dignity and peace. And our country Serbia. With me or without me, it doesn't matter. This nation and this party will live!," Dacic stated in a post on Instagram.

According to the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections published by the Election Commission, the list "Ivica Dacic - Stability Factor" won 93,280 votes, i.e. 2.17 percent, which leaves it below the 3 percent threshold.

But Vucic said that they were "very much mistaken" because "there are people who went through all this before in 2000."

"And we are not afraid of them at all. We will oppose them in every place, preserving our personal and physical integrity. But this tells you how little it takes. One day, from the moment we conceded and congratulated them, which they had not done in a single election in 14 years, and they were losing those by a million and a half votes. So once we finished everything and did what it seems they didn't expect, they don't know what to do. They don't know what to do with it. Rather, it's, let's harass someone, the best way to celebrate is by beating someone up, holding them hostage, and there is no accountability anywhere. Thank you to the few honorable policemen who wanted to do their job, because most of them didn't today, in a bid to engratiate themselves with the new authorities," said Vucic and added that he has a long fight ahead of him, but that he will emerge from it victorious.

The students in the blockade announced last night that they do not support breaking into the premises of media outlets and institutions, nor do they call for that to take place.

In a post on X they stated that they "understand the happiness, emotions and the need to celebrate (election) victory, but it's important now to remain dignified and responsible."

They added that "the media will be freed in the parliament, through an institutional fight for freedom and professional journalism".

They asked everyone gathered at Slavija Square last night "to disperse peacefully after the celebration and go home."

"We won the victory together, let's preserve its dignity!", said the students in the blockade.

A group of supporters of the Student List gathered earlier in the evening in front of the TV Pink building, which was protected by the police, as well as in front of TV Informer, where they broke into the premises and clashed with the police.

Milorad Dodik said today on his Instagram account that the Government of the Serb Republic should make a decision to ban the opening of new betting parlors and installation of devices in hospitality establishments. This measure includes a complete ban on advertising betting activities in public media and social networks.

Dodik also previously commented on the results of parliamentary elections in Serbia, when he officially congratulated the "Student List" on its victory.

"The citizens of Serbia and all political actors once again demonstrated the democratic character of one of the oldest state-building nations in Europe," Dodik stated in a post on X.

The Kremlin appreciates the contribution of former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to the development of Russian-Serbian relations, spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

"We recognize the results of the (parliamentary) elections that were held in Serbia. We greatly appreciate the contribution that Vucic made to the development of our bilateral relations," Peskov told reporters.

"Cooperation with Russia is in Serbia's interest because it above all benefits Serbia," said Peskov.

He added that Moscow intends to continue to fully support the development of Russian-Serbian relations.

"We, for our part, intend to continue doing everything possible to improve the development of our relations with Belgrade, but, as you know, it takes two to tango," said Peskov.

The celebratory atmosphere after the announcement of the victory of the Student List in the parliamentary elections last night echoed all over Serbia, and in Belgrade it seemed that there was no part of the capital where the people did not gather.

People of all ages took to the streets, they celebrated with song, whistles, music, dance, and even trumpets, and those who happened to be in cars would stop in the middle of the street and join the people. The Telegraf.rs team managed to capture part of the celebration.

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has stated that he spoke with the Student List, announcing it in a short post on X.

"I have just spoken by phone with the leaders of the Students' List, who won the elections in Serbia, to congratulate them on their victory. I assured them of Hungary’s support. I was delighted to hear how much strength our victory in April had given them during this difficult struggle.," he wrote.

Earlier last night, he reacted in another post after Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat in the parliamentary elections in Serbia.

The discovery of Göbekli Tepe in Turkey, followed by other similar Neolithic settlements collectively known as Taş Tepeler, has completely transformed both our understanding and exploration of the past.

During our visit to the archaeological site of Sayburç, we discussed the research and discoveries with Dr. Eylem Özdoğan, a professor in the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology at Istanbul University and the director of the excavations at Sayburç.

• What is Taş Tepeler and how it changed our look on the past?

- Taş Tepeler is a Neolithic project, the Şanlıurfa Neolithic Research Project, actually that is the name. It is focused at the early settled life in the plateau that stretches from the Eastern Taurus to the Mesopotamian plains. So this area was very fruitful during the early Holocene. People lived here and tried to settle down, and they built the first villagers in the in the area.

• Okay and what is the connection to the Neolithic Revolution?

- I mean, Neolithic means the settled and productive way of life, but we cannot see all this developments at the same time. So people first settled down and continue to hunt and gather, and then they start to produce their food, farm, and became a farming society. So, this is described as a Neolithic Revolution, so it is almost the same meaning.

• How old are Göbekli Tepe and other tepes and how important is the finding of them for history?

- The settlements in this region has started with the early Holocene. So, the earliest one dated the 9,700 BC. And then they continued almost 1,500 years to live in the region with hunting and gathering with settled life.

• How important was it for for investigating the past? What changed after the finding of Göbeklitepe and other tepes?

- I mean, all Neolithic research in the region taught us a lot about the early settlers, how they settled down and how they lived and survivef, and how they started to make the larger communities than before. So we learned a lot. But more remarkable and apparent results of new research that we learned that the people who settled down hasn't started farming immediately. They lived depending on their natural environment for longer time that we expected.

• And what we know about people that live here?

- Most of the settlements have been excavating over a large areas, so we could see their special buildings with the dwellings, so we can get more information about their daily life. For example, Sayburç, where we are, is one of those sites, and it is the Sayburç occupied 300 years in the mid ninth millennium, and we have seen more than 70 buildings in the in the area, and most of them are dwellings. And we can follow that with the sedentary life, the the dwellings became apparent, and they have food preparation areas, sometimes some small storage areas within, so we could understand their daily lives much better than before.

• What are the most important scientific theories about Taş Tepeler and what are the biggest mysteries of it?

- I mean, I cannot say that the Neolithic period has big mysteries as we expect from the social media and the other areas. We know period before the Neolithic, and how the human beings became capable of settled life and productive life. So actually, there is no big mystery about it. But we can see that the in the good conditions, in the suitable conditions, human made their life as they want and they start to direct their environment, instead being a part of it.

• Is there any connection to Mesopotamia, first civilizations in the world?

- I mean, the Southwest Asia is one of the region that we can see the emergence of settled life in different region on the same time, so contemporary. So as the Taş Tepeler area, the Tigris basin, or Levantine corridor, we know that there are more region that occupied by the early settled societies. So this region is one of them. But in in this region, what is the difference that their monumental architecture and monumental art, it shows us that the early settles are not a simple societies, they have very complex social life and artistic view.

• We are at Sayburç, what is different about this excavation here?

- Actually, most of the sites in the region somehow repeat each other. So we can see differences along with the similarities. This showed us that the region has shared the common cultural aspects. But in Sayburç, Sayburç is a single-layered occupation, and we exposed a large areas in the in the Sayburç, so we could see the dwellings with special buildings, and how the daily life integrates with the special buildings and rituals and the other common things in in here, and it it taught us a lot.

The Election Commission, RIK, announced today the results of the parliamentary elections based on 8,077 processed polling stations, according to which the "Student List" received 2,211,400 votes, i.e. 52.54 percent, and the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" list received 1,653,868 votes, i.e. 39.29 percent of the votes.

The list "Ivica Dacic - Stability Factor" won 91,673 votes, or 2.18 percent.

Other electoral lists received less than one percent of the cast votes.

According to this data, 4,211,957 voters, or 68.78 percent, went to the polls.

The Center for Free Elections and Democracy, CeSID, and IPSOS Serbia have announced that on Sunday, during election day, they will publish turnout estimates five times throughout the day, based on a cross-section of data, an this will happen at 09:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, and 19:00 hours.

For this occasion, a stratified sample of 750 polling stations will be prepared, from which turnout data will be collected during the day, as well as data on election results during the evening, according to the CeSID website.

They will organize parallel counting of votes and will be the first to announce the estimates of the turnout and election results of the parliamentary elections on election night, Sunday, October 25.

The first estimates of the parliamentary election results are expected at around 21:30-22:00 hours, after which the data will continue to be updated live until preliminary assessment is published, as well as projection of distribution of seats in the Serbian National Assembly.

CeSID also states that during election day, it will report on any observed irregularities.

They state that the preliminary projections of election results will be published only when the analysis of the collected data shows that they are sufficiently reliable and stable, that is, that possible subsequent corrections cannot significantly change the outcome.

Reliability of assessments and informing the public in a responsible manner will take precedence over the speed of publication of results.

As in previous years, CeSID will monitor the entire election process and during election day inform the public through the internet presentation, social networks, press releases and statements for the media.

After the election, the preliminary and final report of the observation mission will be presented to the public.

Telegraf.rs reporters are today at the scene in front of a family home in Belgrade where a brazen burglary took place last night.

While the inspectors were again interviewing the victim, an elderly woman, an incredible twist took place that brought tears to everyone's eyes.

The woman went through a real drama when burglars broke into her house, locked her in the bathroom and took her savings of as much as 130,000 euros as well as gold jewelry.

While police inspectors were still interviewing the woman in the house today in order to collect additional clues and information about the thieves, a moving and unexpected moment happened.

Dog returns!

The victim's pet, that went missing during the burglary, suddenly appeared at the gate of the house - a small Yorkshire terrier!

We have learned that it is assumed that during the escape, the thieves either threw him out of the window or took him with them, so that he would not make a noise and draw the attention of the neighbors, and then left him nearby.

The little dog managed to find his way home and back to his owner, who hadn't stopped crying for him since last night.

The police investigation is still ongoing, and operatives continue combing the area and reviewing footage from the surrounding surveillance cameras in order to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this robbery as soon as possible.

The Belgrade police are intensively searching for brazen burglars who took a huge sum of money and valuables from a family home last night, Telegraf.rs has learned.

Fortunately, the victim, an elderly woman, was not injured, but she experienced incredible drama in her own home.

According to information from the investigation, the unknown perpetrators broke into the house, entering and leaving through a window, and took the woman's savings amounting to 130,000 euros, as well as a considerable amount of gold jewelry.

That this was a well-organized and cold-blooded action is also evident by the fact that during the robbery, the thieves locked the unfortunate woman in the bathroom in order to prevent her from calling for help.

Robbery planned in detail?

According to initial unofficial information, investigators suspect that the robbery was "a tip off" - that is, that the burglars had precise information in advance that there was a large amount of cash and valuables in the house.

"The way they entered, the speed with which they acted and the fact that they knew exactly where the money was, indicate that the thieves recieved a tip-off and that they had been following the owner's movements for a long time," says a source close to the investigation.

Pet taken to prevent raising alarm?

The strangest and distressing detail about this brazen robbery is the disappearance of a pet. During the investigation, the woman told the inspectors that her dog disappeared from the house.

As it is a small-breed dog that physically could not jump out the window on its own, it is suspected that the burglars took it with them - either to prevent it from barking while they were escaping, or to prevent the unfortunate animal from returning to the house.

The police carried out a detailed investigation, took fingerprints and other evidence, while a review of security cameras footage from the surrounding streets and from neighboring buildings is underway in order to track down the criminals as soon as possible.

The elderly woman, despite suffering great shock and stress, fortunately did not suffer any physical injuries.

The Turkish textile factory Kaizen in Smederevo has officially started the liquidation procedure, and the reason stated in the documentation is the lack of economic justification to continue operations. As a result of this decision, around 350 workers will lose their jobs.

The workers were first sent on a four-day paid leave, after which they were notified to come to the factory and sign the documents ending their employment.

One of the workers confirmed for RTS that they were told at a meeting that all obligations toward them will be fully in line with the law and regulations. According to data available on the website of the Serbian Business Registers Agency, the company has sufficient funds to meet all its obligations.

Kaizen has been operating in Smederevo since April 2016.

Election silence is in force in Serbia since last midnight, and will last until the polls close in early the parliamentary elections on Sunday at 20:00 hours.

During election silence, any kind of election campaigning or attempts to influence the will of the voters is not allowed.

According to the Law on Election of People's Deputies, 48 hours before the day of the vote and on the day of the vote until the polling stations close it is forbidden to publish predictions of election results in the media and at public gatherings, to publicly present the candidates and their election programs, or to urge voters to vote or not to vote for certain electoral lists.

Violations of these provisions means fines for legal entities, responsible persons in legal entities, and individuals.

The law stipulates that a legal entity will be fined from 100,000 to 600,000 dinars, 50,000 to 150,000 dinars is imposed for the responsible person in the media, while for the same offense, the fine for an individual ranges from 10,000 to 40,000 dinars.

6,450,523 voters have the right to vote in the early parliamentary elections on October 25, and voting will take place at 8,392 polling stations.

18 election lists will compete for 250 seats in the Serbian National Assembly. Nine lists represent national minorities.

One person died in terrible fire that broke out around 04:00 this morning in a private facility within the Rusanda Special Rehabilitation Hospital in Melenci near Zrenjanin, in northern Serbia.

The dramatic battle with the fire began in the early hours of the morning, when it engulfed a privately owned building. The photos from the scene show the entire sky over this place literally lit up from the strength and power of the flames.

All available forces were immediately dispatched to the field. 13 firefighters and six fire engines participated in the extensive operation, while local heroes - members of the Voluntary Fire Society from Melenci - provided selfless help. The rapid reaction of the rescuers prevented the further spread of the fire to the surrounding buildings of this well-known spa.

Despite the efforts made by firefighters, one person died. His body was found after the fire was brought under control.

The cause of this tragedy is currently unknown. An on-site investigation is underway in order to determine all the circumstances and the exact cause of the fire.

"I want to thank the people who supported us in a difficult time, the people who dared to be on the side of the national resistance to an imported revolution, and I am infinitely grateful for that. Those people showed courage unique to anywhere in the world, they managed to oppose very powerful external forces, which have huge money, which is confirmed by the latest article on the Breitbart portal about how USAID continues to finance a revolution and protests in Serbia," Vucic said.

"I'm not talking about that at all. People managed to oppose them and while some blocked the streets, blocked our faculties, our schools, blocked life in Serbia, said that life must stop, called on people to take part in general strikes, others worked diligently, worked hard, raised Serbia, built roads, built railroads that they (protesters) use to come to protests. We built our country, science and technology parks, magnificent clinical centers and changed the face of Serbia," stated Vucic.

He emphasized that even when it comes to the Temple of Saint Sava, by far the largest part was done during the time he was prime minister and president.

"More has been done in the last 14 years for the Temple of Saint Sava, I'm talking about the cost of the works, than in the previous 105 years. And that's what the Church says. We did all the symbols, up to the monument to Stefan Nemanja, to the whole of Belgrade Waterfront and Skyline. We changed the face of the cities, the face of Serbia, we made a successful country that could never boast of a high rate of economic growth, which today is one of the candidates for a leader in Europe, or always among those countries that have the highest growth rate in Europe," said Vucic.

According to him, that does not mean that we live better than the French or Germans, but it means that we are drastically reducing that gap.

"Are we living better? Well, I'll give you some examples, even though it's our habit, almost a sporting activity, to whine and complain. That's how we are. Today, the minimum wage covers significantly more than the minimum consumer basket. This was never the case before. Today, the average wage covers 119 percent, so 20 percent remains in relation to the average consumer basket. So, these are big changes, huge changes," Vucic pointed out.

He reminded that in the past the average salary covered only 60 or 70 percent of the average consumer basket.

"If we lose the election, I will congratulate them on their victory. If we win, nobody will steal that victory. I expect an uncertain fight in the elections. I am competing with myself. I am calm despite the countless problems, everything I had to go through, my family and I and the people who put themselves at the head of the resistance. I am satisfied because we had a clean, honest, fair campaign. All their clips are dark, full of hatred," he added.

"I will give you the exact result after the election on Sunday around half past 10 (pm) at the latest. RIK (Election Commission) will take longer," Vucic said.

During a field survey of a future power line archaeologists discovered 20 new archaeological sites in western Serbia, the ArcheoSerbia Facebook page announced.

These sites span from the deep prehistoric times, the Paleolithic period some 40,000 years ago, up to late medieval period, a post said.

The sites have been detected in areas of Valjevo, Ljig and Mionica, the most significant being the ones related to the earliest presence of the humans on the territory of Serbia, dating back to the Paleolithic period, located in villages Cvetanovac, Bosnjanovic, Ducic, Todorin Do, Gornji Music, and Radobic.

Artifacts from this period include flint stone tools made in Levallois knapping (flaking) technique.

Besides Stone age sites, archaeologists have detected sites from the antiquity and medieval periods, along the rivers Kacapa and Kolubara.

The detailed survey was carried out by the Institute for Protection of Monuments of Culture from Valjevo, with participation of archeologists Nevena Pavlovic, Aleksandar Djukic, Jovana Popovic, and Radivoje Arsic.

The "European Serbia" election list has held its final convention in Novi Sad, and the leaders of that list stated that only this political grouping guarantees an accelerated path to the EU and the country's progress.

One of the leaders of the list, Zdravko Ponos, said that they are going to the October 25 parliamentary election as a "voice of reason" that speaks about what Serbia can and should be like.

He believes that Serbia has stood still for too long or gone in the wrong direction and that it is lagging behind the world, the "European Serbia" list said in a statement.

The first on the list, Dragan Djilas, stated that, after 14 years of campaigning against Europe, most people would not want the EU to come here and that "European Serbia" is the only list in favor of that.

The leader of the list, Marinika Tepic, assessed that the real fight against corruption in Serbia is not possible without the EU, cooperation with Europol and Eurojust, and that is why Europe is a priority for this list.

The Student List hosted last night welcomed a group of its supporters who arrived in Belgrade on foot from several towns around Serbia, to attend this election list's rally announced for tomorrow.

The welcome was organized in front of the Rectorate on Studentski (Student) Square, with a red carpet, music, drums and fireworks.

Supporters of the Student List from several places in western Serbia were the first to arrive, the media reports.

Those gathered in front of the Rectorate carried flags and banners in support of that list.

Traffic in Vase Carapica Street and on Studentski Square was suspended.

Previously, the welcome of the supporters of the Student List, who arrived in Belgrade from three directions, was arranged in Zemun, near Ada Ciganlija, and in Konjarnik.

Groups of supporters of this list who arrived in Belgrade set out on foot a few days ago from Novi Sad, Zajecar, Sabac, Valjevo, and Gornji Milanovac.

The Student List has announced the final campaign rally for tomorrow on Slavija Square, ahead of the parliamentary election scheduled for Sunday, October 25.

A serious incident took place last night in Cetinjska Street in Belgrade when a group of about 10 masked men broke into the garden of a well-known hospitality establishment, completely demolishing the inventory and injuring two young men, Telegraf.rs has learned.

As we unofficially learned, the injured young men are members of the Dutch rugby team, who were staying in Belgrade and were among the guests at the time of the attack.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack was carried out in a flash and without any previous verbal altercation or other reason. Hooligans with masks over their faces ran into the garden of the cafe and started randomly breaking and destroying everything in front of them - they demolished and broke tables, chairs and other furniture.

During that attack, the Dutch athletes suffered physical injuries, after which they received medical attention.

Shortly after receiving the report, police patrols and an ambulance arrived at the scene. Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted an investigation, spoke with witnesses and employees of the bar, and downloaded footage from security cameras from Cetinjska Street and surrounding buildings in order to reconstruct the movement of the group and identify the participants.

The search for the masked attackers is ongoing, and the competent prosecutor's office and the police are working to establish all the circumstances and motives behind this hooligan act.

The protests in Paris that started last weekend are still the main topic among the residents of the French capital. Such a wave of violence and looting has not been seen in a city known for frequent demonstrations that turn chaotic. As citizens are trying to return to normal life and owners of bistros, shops and craft shops scramble to rebuild their properties, the amount of anger and hatred that surfaced overnight between Saturday and Sunday is becoming increasingly apparent.

Namely, we received photos and videos from a waiter originally from Sri Lanka, that testify to how Paris was literally burning, and that it is a miracle nobody died.

Parisians testify that dozens of shops and cars were burned and looted just over the last weekend. On Tuesday evening, the situation was much calmer in central Paris, where a temporary curfew was introduced in several locations.

According to announcements, another wave of large-scale demonstrations will take place on Saturday.

Outgoing Serbian PM Djuro Macut laid a wreath today in Sumarice, Kragujevac, on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of Serb victims of the Second World War, and paid his respects to the thousands of civilians who were executed by firing squads over three days in that town in October 1941.

Together with Macut, members of his cabinet were present today, according to a Serbian government's statement.

The Day of Remembrance of Serbian Victims of the Second World War commemorates October 19, 20 and 21, 1941, when the German forces occupying Serbia executed about 3,000 innocent civilians in Kragujevac, among them 300 students and teachers from a local high school.

The mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dasic, representatives of the 1st Kragujevac High School, members of the diplomatic corps, the Association for the Cultivation of Serbia's Traditions of the Liberation Wars, and citizens today paid tribute to the victims of the Sumarice massacre.

The leader of the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" election list, Aleksandar Vucic, said that the turnout in the parliamentary elections on October 25 will be between 63 and 66 percent and added that this is "the maximum of the maximum".

Vucic told TV Informer that he speaks from experience and pointed out that the fact that they (his political opponents) say that the turnout will be between 79 and 91 percent only speaks to the kind of ignorant people they are.

"That tells you what kind of ignorant people we are dealing with, who tell you (it will be) 79 to 91 percent. I am ashamed to read that these people have graduated from some universities and are engaged in this business. It's not even propaganda. They have no clue. They have no idea about anything," said Vucic.

He called on all citizens to go to the polls on Sunday and to vote for a modern Serbia, for a normal and decent Serbia.

"It's important to me that people turn out and vote for those who don't threaten with beatings, killing, or I don't know what. That's what we need - for people to vote for programs, to vote for even more successful and better healthcare, to solve the problems of water supply, sewage, to build our schools, kindergartens, for people to vote for that," said Vucic.

The leader of the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" electoral list, Aleksandar Vucic, said last night that for that electoral list, peace and stability are of the greatest importance, especially now that the world is, as he said, experiencing a complete destabilization.

During the presentation of the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" election list on RTS, he said that in such global circumstances, one cannot even predict what will happen tomorrow.

"You saw what happened in the previous days in France, Italy, Portugal. In Italy, you saw the army on the streets of Milan. You saw riots, everything that people had created for years with hard work, their stores, their products, destroyed in one night, because of arrogant bullies, those who think they have the right to destroy other people's lives," said Vucic.

He added that such a fate would have befallen Serbia if its leadership had not been sufficiently careful, and if the citizens had not shown tolerance and patience.

"For us, peace and stability are of the greatest importance. And when I say that, one of the key points of our program will be a different, more serious and responsible approach to education. We will restore schools, and we will manage to restore almost everything, but those schools must be temples of knowledge, not a meeting place or a place for daily politics," said Vucic.

He stated that if he becomes prime minister, he will guarantee that there will be no politics in universities or schools.

"Those who care about politics should establish a political party, a group of citizens, whatever they want, however they want, let them engage in politics in the elections, while our children will learn, and what they will acquire is knowledge, not writing graffiti and tearing someone down or building political careers instead of building their professional careers, instead of being successful people, instead of being people whose knowledge no one can take away from them," said Vucic.

He pointed out that the electoral list headed by him, unlike others, does not hide who will be their candidate for prime minister, as well as their positions on foreign policy issues.

"With us, unlike with some others, it is known who will be the prime minister, we know our attitude towards the sanctions against the Russian Federation, we also know what our attitude is towards the Serbs as an allegedly genocidal nation, we also know what our attitude is towards Kosovo and Metohija, and the Serb Republic," said Vucic.

A limited curfew imposed in Paris after last weekend's violent protests will continue tonight and could remain in place for as long as deemed necessary, Paris police said in a post on X.

The curfew lasts from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time, and mainly covers Paris' Republique and Halles districts.

The same measure will be in force the very center of Lyon in the east of the country from 9 p.m. It is the third largest city in France, while Marseille in the south, the second largest city, will have a curfew from 10 p.m.

A curfew began on Monday evening in certain parts of Paris, as well as in Lyon, and is also in force for minors in Bordeaux in the southwest, Lille in the north and Nice in the southeast of the country.

Footage of the clashes and public buildings being set on fire or vandalized has gone viral, prompting countries such as the United States, China and Germany to issue warnings to their citizens in France to be vigilant.

A man was arrested on Tuesday who was registered as a person potentially threatening state security and known for belonging to the extreme left, in connection with Saturday's fire in the town hall in Limonge. The case was taken over by the Police Sub-Directorate for Combating Terrorism.

Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced on Tuesday before the National Assembly that the deployment of police for the new protests, which are planned in France for Saturday, "will be massive", admitting that the deployment of members of the forces of order on October 17 was "too static and insufficiently mobile".

Wednesday in Serbia will be warm with clouds gradually moving in, while in the afternoon and evening in the west of the country, short spells of rain or showers are expected in some places, the Republic Hydrometeorological Service (RHMZ) has announced.

In the morning, fog is expected in the valleys in western and southwestern Serbia, while during the day it will be windy in the Kosava region, with weak and moderate, locally strong southeasterly wind.

The lowest temperatures will range from five to 10 degrees, while it will be warmer in the Kosava region, from 12 to 16 degrees. The highest daily temperatures will range from 20 to 25 degrees.

It will be warm and windy in Belgrade tomorrow, sunny before noon, and mostly cloudy in the afternoon and evening, with the possibility of short spells of rain in the evening. A moderate southeastly wind will blow, and the temperature will range from 14 to 25 degrees.

Changeable cloudy weather with rain is expected on Thursday, before noon in the north and east, and in the second part of the day in other regions. Heavy rain is possible in the southwest and south of the country in some places in the evening. The wind will be moderate to strong, northwesterly.

Until the end of the week, it will be partly overcast in Serbia, with short spells of rain in the southeast on Friday, while a slight increase in temperature is expected for the weekend.

At the beginning of next week, more clouds bringing rain are expected coming from the northwest, with a slight drop in temperatures.

The delivery of ballots for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Serbia has begun, distributed from the Official Gazette (Sluzbeni Glasnik) printing office.

6,450,523 ballot papers have been printed, which will be distributed to 8,392 polling stations throughout Serbia.

The complete election materials have been prepared in 29 languages and script variants, and are now being distributed in a total of 11,500 packages, the RTS public broadcaster is reporting this Tuesday.

According to this report, the ballot papers for voters in the diaspora were delivered yesterday, while today the materials are getting delivered to cities and municipalities throughout Serbia, including Belgrade.

Early parliamentary elections in Serbia will be held on October 25, with 18 electoral lists participating.

During the night a large fire broke out in Patrijarha Pavla Boulevard in Novi Sad, in which three parked cars were completely destroyed, while a bar on the ground floor of a nearby residential building, as well as the building's facade, were damaged.

Residents in those buildings were woken up by fire sirens, and the blaze quickly spread and engulfed the parked vehicles.

"Fire sirens woke us up. The fire spread to a nearby bar, which was damaged, and the facade of the building was also damaged. The windows on the bar broke, and the vehicles were destroyed," one of the eyewitnesses told RINA.

As can be seen in the photos from the scene, one car burned down completely, while the other two caught on fire partially, but are also extensively damaged.

Firefighting crews were dispatched to the scene and intervened to localize and extinguish the fire. According to the information so far no one was injured in this incident.

According to initial unofficial information, it is suspected that the fire was most likely a case of arson, but all the circumstances under which it broke out will be determined by further investigation.

The investigation should shed light on how the fire broke out, as well as whether it was caused on purpose. For now, there is no official confirmation about the cause of the fire.

Vice President of the Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party, Ana Brnabic, says that as far as representatives of the Student List are concerned, so-called Kosovo is a state, and added that this is why the Student List is supported by all Pristina lobbyists.

N1 TV has refused to let Aleksandar Vucic represent the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" electoral list in a televised debate that had been arranged for Wednesday 20:00 hours.

As can be heard in a recording that was sent to the media from the SNS headquarters, Vladanka Malovic, a member of the SNS Presidency, called N1 news director Branislav Sovljanski and said that Vucic would be their representative. Sovljanski replied that it was not an option and that this was the position taken by the newsroom.

"So if you can't send us someone else, then it won't happen," said Sovljanski.

Malovic asked if this means that the position of the N1 newsroom is that Aleksandar Vucic is unwelcome on that television.

The special anti-corruption department of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has rejected criminal complaints filed against Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric, the active general secretary in that ministry, Dusan Kozarev, and 10 ambassadors of the Republic of Serbia in various countries, who faced allegations of criminal offenses of violation of the right to vote.

The criminal complaints were rejected because the actions of the reported persons do not carry all the essential characteristics of the reported criminal acts, that is, the reported acts are not criminal acts for which they can be prosecuted.

In the explanation of the decision dismissing the criminal complaints, it was pointed out that Article 56 of the Law on the Election of People's Deputies stipulates that polling stations abroad are determined by the Republic Election Commission (RIK), as proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It follows from the aforementioned provision that it is necessary to distinguish the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to propose polling stations, from the competence of the Republic Election Commission, which determines them.

The mere fact that a certain polling station was not proposed, i.e. that voters are directed to travel to another polling station in order to vote, does not constitute the act of committing any of the reported criminal acts, especially bearing in mind that the essential elements of some of the criminal acts under the heading of criminal acts against official duty (such as obtaining benefits, causing damage or aggravating the rights of others) have not been carried out.

This cloud system will move over Serbia on Wednesday evening and Thursday night and bring "dirty rain" and showers with particles of desert sand from the Sahara. This phenomenon is best visible after the rain stops, and mostly on vehicles.

On Thursday afternoon and evening, a cold front is expected to break through from the northwest, with a strong northwesterly wind and rain, with a cooling, and a strong northwesterly current that will clear the atmosphere of the particles of the Sahara desert sand.

The leader of the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" electoral list, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that in the elections on October 25, Serbia's statehood will be protected and preserved, and he called on supporters to go to the polls in as large a number as possible.

"I wish for a large turnout, I want as many of you to come out as possible. If you want me to explain the details, in case over 63 percent turn out, we get a significantly larger number of people who vote for us. Because these are decent people, a little scared because of their (opposition) harassment and harangues against such people, that's why I ask them to be both disciplined and brave. Because now we are protecting the fatherland, we are protecting the statehood of Serbia," Vucic said during an appearance on TV Pink.

He added that he expects a huge turnout in the elections, about 4 million voters, and that the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" list will receive more than 2,050,000 votes, or over 50 percent.

"And as you can see, I don't hide my goals or wishes. And I don't react, because I hear stories about 'they will annul results from polling stations in Belgrade, they will do this, they will do that'. We will not do anything at all, except that we will not allow you (opposition) to steal the electoral will of the people. We will not let you steal (ballot paper) sacks, we will not let you steal (election committees') minutes, we will not let you steal a single vote in Serbia,' Vucic stated.

He added that if it turns out that the people are enthusiastic about a policy that "Alojzije Stepinac is the same as Bishop Nikolaj" he will immediately congratulate them.

He stressed that the SNS never undermined elections or the electoral will of the citizens, but always behaved properly and congratulated even when they lost by 0.3 percent.

"Their leaders know they are losing, but they think something will happen, so there will be an invasion of RTS, the Serbian Assembly, a takeover of power by force. That 'we (opposition) will be recognized by the Comintern plenum of French students', or whatever. These are fairy tales and stories for kids. If things unfold the way they seem to me, the difference will be so big that they will be shocked," Vucic said.

Vucic emphasized that he does not expect a victory of 10,20 or 50,000 votes, but a difference of at least 400,000 votes.

He said that citizens should think about whether they want to vote for the list whose leaders called Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Porfirije "Profitije" and said that Bishop Nikolaj was the same as Alojzije Stepinac.

Speaking about the Student List, Vucic said that they accepted everyone in, adding that he does not understand those who are Serbs, Orthodox, professors or teachers and supports the notion of Bishop Nikolaj being equalized with (WW2 Croatian Catholic criminal) Alojzije Stepinac.

Ana Brnabic, who is candidate for a seat in the Assembly on the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" election list, said on Saturday evening that Aleksandar Vucic managed to lower tensions before the extremely important rally in Novi Sad held the day before thanks to a wise policy, and stated that the most important messages from the rally as far as she was concerned were that the list would win, which she said was important for the fate of Serbia, but that they would also extend a hand to their political opponents.

Brnabic told TV K1 that it was fascinating for her to see that Aleksandar Vucic managed to once again reduce tensions.

She said that the list already planned rallies in Novi Sad several times, but due to heightened tensions and threats from representatives of the Student List that there would be riots if the SNS held a rally in Novi Sad, they postponed the gathering.

"Aleksandar Vucic heard those threats and said: 'Okay, we're delaying our gatherings in Novi Sad'. And then he moved them to the extent that everyone in Serbia saw that Aleksandar Vucic did his best to calm the tensions. So, in the end, there were no tensions, and even they, those blockaders from the Student List, urged people not to be involved in any incidents. So Aleksandar Vucic succeeded ahead of that extremely important rally to show that Serbia is a free country and that everyone can go to every city, every municipality, every village and present their policies and gather their supporters. He managed to do it without tensions. He showed an incredible political skill," said Brnabic.

According to her, one of the basic messages that was sent by the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" list is that they will "extend their hand".

"The message is that we will win because it's important for Serbia. For me, these elections are absolutely without any doubt, these are the most important, absolutely decisive elections for Serbia. For me, on October 25, the fate of Serbia will be decided, about whether we will preserve a country that is free, that is democratic, where you have the right to a different opinion, or if by any chance the Student List wins, we will step into terror and totalitarianism. For me, the message is 'we will win, it is important that we win for the sake of Serbia, but we will extend our hand'," said Brnabic.

She added that representatives of the list of the coalition gathered around SNS do not hate anyone as we are all brothers and sisters, citizens of Serbia.

According to her, this is the opposite of what can be heard from the Student List.

"The closer October 25 is, the more monstrous messages are coming from the people representing the Student List. Revolutionary terror. Yesterday, in the middle of a debate, a pensioner, ironically a representative of the Student List, openly threatened Sinisa Mali," Brnabic said.

According to her they use political spin to say something at the beginning of a sentence, while the truth is revealed at its end, such as saying, "we are for the rule of law," and then, "we will arrest you on October 26".

"That's not the rule of law, that's terror. That's what they're talking about," said Brnabic.

The Belgrade police and the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade launched an investigation into a serious traffic accident that happened yesterday around noon at the intersection of Visnjicka and Podrugoviceva streets, in which Dragomir M. (83) lost his life, while a total of five other people were injured, Telegraf.rs has learned.

The accident occurred when a Renault Megane driven by Dragomir M. and a Mercedes driven by M.K. (55), collided under circumstances that are still unclear. Due to the force of the impact, the accident turned into a pile-up in which six more parked cars were damaged.

The Emergency Center doctors fought to save the driver for several hours, but unfortunately, he passed away. In the same accident, five other people were injured and received medical assistance.

Dramatic videos and photos of the destroyed vehicles soon spread on social networks, testifying to the force of the collision that disturbed the residents in this part of the city.

The competent prosecutor's office ordered an autopsy, as well as a detailed investigation in order to determine all the circumstances, the speed of the vehicles and the exact cause of this accident.

At the beginning of the second day of his official visit to Moscow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic met with Army General Dmitry Kochnev, the Director of the Federal Protective Service (FSO) of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, Dacic and Kochnev discussed the modalities of cooperation between Serbian the Ministry of the Interior and the Russian Federal Protective Service.

In a friendly conversation, Dacic stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia pays great attention to professional training of police officers, especially members of the Unit for the Security of Persons and Facilities, and pointed out that the most important international specialist training and courses are implemented in cooperation with the Russian Federal Protective Service.

A true winter idyll was captured today on the mountain of Golija in Serbia, where, judging by the video from the ground, the snow is very much already falling.

The Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia (RHMZ) announced earlier that Saturday, October 17 will see moderate to completely cloudy weather in northeast, central and eastern Serbia in some places with light rain with weak and moderate, in the east of the country occasionally strong westerly and northwesterly winds.

The lowest temperatures will range from 0 to 7 degrees, and the highest up to 17 degrees.

In Belgrade, it will be mostly cloudy with the possibility of light rain in the middle of the day, weak west and northwest wind and the highest daily temperature around 14 degrees.

A Telegraf team visited the grave of Ratko Mladic at the Topcider cemetery today, October 16. Although exactly 39 days have passed since the burial, the scene we found testifies to the fact that the grave site is still being visited daily.

We found a large amount of wreaths on the family tomb, and what is particularly interesting is a handful of completely fresh flowers, which indicates that people are still coming even after more than a month.

The Telegraf team has also been visiting the grave in the previous weeks, where there were large amounts of flowers and wreaths, as well as numerous lighted and burnt candles, since the day of the funeral.

During one of the earlier visits, we also found a shirt that someone had left among the flower arrangements.

On October 5, a 40-day Serbian Orthodox memorial service for Ratko Mladic was held at the Topcider cemetery, which was attended by his son Darko, family members, friends and former comrades-in-arms.

Ratko Mladic died on August 27, 2026 in The Hague, where he was serving a life sentence imposed by the ICTY which found him guilty of genocide in Srebrenica, crimes against humanity and war crimes during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mladic was laid to rest on September 7 in Belgrade, in the family tomb next to his daughter Ana Mladic, who died in 1994.

The police in the Croatian town of Split are investigating incidents that took place before a football match between the local club Hajduk and Ajax from Amsterdam, and arrests have already started because of the home fans' (known as "Torcida") anti-Jewish chants.

According to available information, the police have identified at least ten people who are suspected of shouting hateful messages and mentioning Adolf Hitler and Auschwitz during yesterday's march of Hajduk fans.

Among the identified persons there are also several members of "Torcida" who are already known to the police, and criminal proceedings will be conducted against them.

They are suspected of the criminal offense of public incitement to violence and hatred towards a certain group or its members, for which, if found guilty, the Croatian Criminal Code stipulates a prison sentence of up to three years.

The law foresees stricter penalties if this concerns organizing or leading a group of at least three people with the aim of public incitement to hatred. In that case, a prison sentence is six months to five years, while the participant of such a group could serve up to one year in prison.

The same article of the law covers public approval or denial of genocide, crimes of aggression, crimes against humanity or war crimes, under the conditions prescribed by law. A prison sentence of up to three years is envisaged for such a crime.

In addition to the current arrests because of hate speech, the police detained at least five people on Thursday on suspicion that they participated in a mass brawl with Ajax fans on the Split seafront. They are suspected of the crime of coercion against an official person.

After questioning before the deputy state prosecutor in Split, the suspects will most likely be brought before the investigating judge, with a proposal for pre-trial detention.

The criminal offense of coercion against an official is punishable by imprisonment ranging from six months to five years.

The leader of the Serbian Progressive Party, Milos Vucevic, condemned yesterday in Futog posts on social networks that concern Aleksandar Vucic and his family, assessing that these are unacceptable attacks and that because of such actions, it is important for citizens to express their stance in the elections.

After welcoming the citizens who arrived from Backa Palanka on foot on their way to attend today's rally in Novi Sad, Vucevic answered questions from journalists and said that he had seen a post that he considered particularly offensive, whose authors he believes crossed all boundaries of decency.

"It's an attack on every family in Serbia. Tamara is every woman in Serbia, Aleksandar is every man in Serbia, and their children are our children. That's how I see and experience it," said Vucevic.

He assessed that no one has the right to interfere in family relations of other people as that unsettles their lives.

Vucevic also criticized the content that, according to him, was previously published in connection with the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, assessing that certain faculties are participating in a political campaign.

He added that he believes that it has never been more important for citizens to go to the polls and show what they think about such political activity.

Asked about a statement made Vice President of the Assembly of Montenegro Mirsad Nurkovic that Serbia should pay the 2.7 billion euros in war reparations that Croatia is now demanding from Montenegro, Vucevic said that Serbia should not assume obligations that are not its own.

"Let them pay since Croatia is to be paid, let them not bring us into it. It's their, not our policy," Vucevic said.

He assessed that the question of the legal successor of Yugoslavia cannot be viewed selectively, asking why such an approach is not also applied when it comes to Kosovo and Metohija.

Vucevic also asked who will compensate Serbia for the damage and suffering of the Serb people during the Second World War, mentioning the death camp Jasenovac in Croatia, and other places of suffering.

He added that he believes that the majority of Montenegrin citizens do not share the views expressed in the said statement.

The leader of the "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" election list, Aleksandar Vucic, said last night that, if he wins the trust of the citizens in the elections on October 25, he will change the laws related to the field of justice in order to improve that field as well, while respecting the Constitution of Serbia.

Vucic appeared on TV B92 to say that there is a lot of dissatisfaction among citizens regarding the situation in the judiciary and added that he himself is dissatisfied.

"There is a lot of dissatisfaction among the people with the state of the judiciary. I agree. I am just as dissatisfied as the people. We have the least authority there and we will not be able to violate the Constitution, but we will change the laws," Vucic said.

He added that laws will be changed and he will act responsibly.

He pointed out that he will try to return both the judiciary and the prosecutor's office to the citizens of Serbia.

"That will be much more difficult than when it comes to education," said Vucic.

Gross NBS FX reserves stood at EUR 29,859.2 mn at end-September 2026, having decreased by EUR 946.2 mn from end-August. They covered 152.4% of money supply M1 and 6.7 months’ worth of the country's import of goods and services, which is more than twice the level prescribed by the relevant adequacy standard, the Serbian National Bank (NBS) has announced.

Net FX reserves (gross FX reserves less banks' FX balances on account of reserve requirements, liabilities to the IMF under the arrangement, and other grounds) stood at EUR 25,558.2 mn at end-September, having decreased by EUR 769.8 mn from end-August.

What caused FX outflows?

Outflows from FX reserves were recorded on account of the settlement of the government's FX liabilities, totalling EUR 400.2 mn, as well as NBS interventions in the local FX market, i.e. net sale of FX in the amount of EUR 230.0 mn.

NBS FX sales, recorded in the second half of the month, were largely driven by increased FX demand for energy imports (primarily oil) in the international market, at elevated prices due to tensions in the Middle East.

Inflows to FX reserves during September came from FX reserve management, grants and other sources in the total net amount of EUR 65.5 mn. The market effects were negative in the amount of EUR 381.5 mn, as a consequence of developments in international markets – a decrease in the USD price of gold by 8.5%, while the strengthening of the US dollar against the euro by 2.3% worked in the opposite direction.

Gold reserves at record level

At end-September gold reserves stood at a record 55,142.3 kg and were valued at EUR 6,531.4 mn, accounting for 21.9% of gross FX reserves.

During September, gold reserves increased by 150.5 kg as a result of the purchase of 12 gold bars in the domestic market from Serbia Zijin Copper. The value of gold reserves decreased by EUR 427.7 mn in September due to market factors. Since the beginning of the year, 2.6 tons of gold have been purchased in the domestic market, and the value of gold reserves has increased by EUR 335.7 mn as a result of the above purchases of gold bars.

Hard currency movements and dinar exchange rate

Trading volumes in the IFEM amounted to EUR 432.4 mn in September and EUR 6,925.4 mn since the start of the year.

The dinar lost 0.1% against the euro in nominal terms in September 2026, while during the first nine months of 2026, it weakened by 0.2% against the euro in nominal terms.

The NBS sold EUR 380.0 mn net in the IFEM in September due to increased FX demand from domestic energy-importing companies. Since the beginning of the year, the NBS has sold EUR 475.0 mn net in the IFEM in order to maintain the relative stability of the dinar exchange rate against the euro.

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad announced that a working meeting was held with representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission in the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of the upcoming parliamentary elections, and that at the meeting, the OSCE/ODIHR Mission was represented by long-term observers.

During the meeting with the representatives of the Mission, issues regarding the real and local jurisdiction of the public prosecutor's offices were discussed from the aspects of prosecuting criminal offenses against electoral rights prescribed by both the Criminal Code and other relevant laws containing penal provisions such as the Law on the Election of People's Representatives and the Law on Financing Political Activities.

They were also informed with the procedure of the prosecutor's office and cooperation with the police and other institutions in a situation when the prosecutor's office receives notification of events that may constitute for criminal acts or misdemeanors related to elections or financing of political activities.

It was particularly emphasized that the prosecutor's office, within its competences, monitors events related to the election process on a daily basis and that, in cooperation with other state bodies, it will react in the shortest possible time in order to establish all relevant facts and prosecute possible perpetrators of criminal acts or misdemeanors in a timely manner, and that the election process takes place and ends in accordance with the regulations of the Republic of Serbia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia has sent a protest note to Croatia, because of interference in the internal political circumstances and the election campaign in Serbia!

As reported by RTS, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assesses in the note that "attempts of external influence on the election processes" and "certain ways of reporting by Croatian media" about the political situation in Serbia are unacceptable.

Concern was expressed about the allegedly one-sided presentation of political circumstances and linking that to regional stability.

The note stresses that such actions do not contribute to mutual trust and good neighborly relations.

Deputy PM and Interior Minister and leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia Ivica Dacic spoke on the occasion of the anniversary of his trip to Prizren, recalling the position of the Serb people and ethnic cleansing in this town in Kosovo and Metohija.

In his post, Dacic recalled the events of 16 years ago, more precisely on December 26, 2010, when he visited Prizren.

"Albanians were stunned. One told me that I had no place there. I replied, 'I was born here'. And where were they born?," asked Dacic.

Referring to the historical importance of Prizren and the drastic demographic changes during the last decades, he said that Prizren was the first capital of Serbia during the time of Tsar Dusan.

"30 years ago, more than 10,000 Serbs lived in Prizren, and now almost all of them have been expelled. That is ethnic cleansing," emphasized Dacic.

Commenting on the contestation of Serbian symbols in those areas, he sent a clear message:

"Some people are bothered by the Serbian flag in Prizren. It will be (there), sooner or later!," stated Dacic.

The showcase of Gogo Galileo HDX took place at Prince Aviation’s new hangar facilty at Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport (BEG) last Friday, providing business aircraft operators from across the region the opportunity to examine the antenna and router and try out the internet connection.

“We usually just talk about hardware, but today we have the chance to touch it, feel it and see how it works in practice,” said Đorđe Petrović, COO at Prince Aviation, as he opened the event.

Petrović described the event as the first showcase of its kind in Southeast Europe. He also announced that further Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the system’s installation were expected soon, with Prince Aviation set to be among the first MRO organisations in the region authorised to carry out the installations.

The first STC, covering the Embraer Legacy family, has been expected this week, while approval for the Cessna Citation XLS+ is planned by the end of the year.

Laura Guillaume, Gogo’s Business Development Manager for Europe, noted that the demonstration gave participants a chance to get hands-on with the equipment and assess the speed and quality of the internet connection for themselves.

The Galileo HDX system uses Eutelsat OneWeb’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, delivering download speeds of up to 60 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 11 Mbps. High-speed Wi-Fi, previously available mainly on the largest business aircraft, is now becoming accessible to a wider range of smaller aircraft.

The antenna is mounted on the aircraft fuselage, and the system can be integrated with existing Gogo AVANCE or SDR systems. It is designed both for retrofit installations and for installation during aircraft production.

“We brought the Galileo HDX antenna and router, exactly what’s installed on the aircraft, so people could see how it works, test it firsthand and experience the high-speed connectivity now available on these smaller jets,” said Guillaume. “Prince Aviation is one of very few MROs in this part of Europe, and globally, authorized to perform Gogo installations across Gogo’s approved range of aircraft”, says Guillaume

Miljan Radivojević, Head of Maintenance Services Sales at Prince Aviation, explained that the antenna’s compact dimensions and data transmission capacity make it particularly well suited to the aircraft the company maintains.

The question is not whether people will need it, but when

Đorđe Petrović, COO at Prince Aviation, told Telegraf Media Group's aviation portal Aero.rs that the company was proud to welcome Gogo representatives, along with industry partners and associates, to Belgrade and offer them a chance to see the system in working conditions.

“Internet access may seem like something we take for granted today, but we have to remember that high-speed connectivity is still far from standard on business aircraft. Gogo has made it possible for business aircraft customers to enjoy high-speed internet. Until now, the antennas needed for high-speed connectivity were simply too large to be installed easily on business aircraft. With the smaller antennas Gogo has now introduced, installation is much more straightforward, making high-speed internet accessible and opening up an entirely new range of possibilities for business aviation,” Petrović said.

Prince Aviation operates both as a business aviation airline and as an aircraft maintenance organisation (MRO).

Petrović explained that the system serves two purposes for the company: it allows Prince Aviation to improve the service it provides to passengers while expanding the maintenance services it offers to other operators.

“The question is not whether people will need it, but when. We are now in a position to offer this solution, which delivers speed, reliability and quality. It is only a matter of time before it becomes absolutely essential in our line of business,” Petrović said.

Gogo develops solutions exclusively for business aviation

Laura Guillaume, Gogo’s Business Development Manager for Europe, explained that the company has developed a family of Galileo antennas that can be installed as a retrofit or fitted at the factory during aircraft production. This means aircraft that previously lacked internet connectivity can also benefit from high-speed access and modern online services.

Streaming content online was not an option: there was no Netflix or YouTube streaming, no live gaming and no video calls. These capabilities simply were not available on aircraft of this size.”

Speaking about Prince Aviation, Guillaume said she first met their representatives two years ago, while working for another company. At the time, the two sides worked together on a project to install an internet system on a Citation aircraft, using a different solution.

Operatives of the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP) carried out an operation that resulted in the arrest of Ismail Sabrija (52) from Belgrade. An entire illegal arsenal of weapons, ammunition, and suspicious Dutch documents were found in his family home, Telegraf.rs has learned.

Members of the UKP and the Service for the Fight against Organized Crime (SBPOK) participated in this extensive operation, in cooperation with the Criminal Intelligence Service, the Department for Special Actions of the Belgrade police, by order of the Third Basic Public Prosecutor's Office and in cooperation with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

Guns and 300 bullets seized

During a detailed search of the apartment and auxiliary premises belonging to the suspect, members of the UKP and other operatives were surprised by the amount of equipment and weapons discovered. They seized:

An automatic Skorpion pistol in a leather military holster

4 pistols and 2 revolvers

A total of 293 pieces of ammunition of various calibers (including 26 pieces of rifle ammunition)

Two pistol covers (firearm parts) and multiple frames

KNIT GLOVE MYSTERY: Dutch documents 

A special mystery in the whole case is the discovery of valid foreign documents. Namely, members of the UKP found an identity card and a driver's license issued by the Netherlands inside a knitted glove, in which one of the revolvers was also stashed.

The documents are in the name of Leusink Hendrik, born February 26, 2004. UKP investigators and the competent prosecutor's office are currently checking how the documents came into the possession of the suspect and whether there is a connection with foreign criminal groups.

He faces several years in prison

By order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, Ismail Sabrija is now in police detention that can last up to 48 hours. On October 15, he will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade for questioning, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances from Article 348, Paragraph 2, in connection with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia.

The investigation is ongoing, and further expert examination will determine whether any of the weapons found were used in the commission of other crimes.

From November 1, citizens of Montenegro will need visas to enter Russia, spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova has said.

She told the Russian newspaper Izvestia that on September 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro informed the Russian side that the agreement between the two countries on the conditions for mutual travel of citizens, signed in 2008, was no longer in force.

She clarified that this means that from November 1, Russian citizens will be able to enter Montenegro and stay on its territory based on visas.

"Consequently, citizens of Montenegro will also have to obtain visas for traveling to Russia," said Zakharova, assessing that such a decision by Podgorica causes obvious damage to Montenegrin interests.

She said that for the sake of EU aspirations, long-term relations between Russia and Montenegro are being systematically destroyed, without paying due attention to the economic consequences of such moves, Vijesti writes.

According to Zakharova, the introduction of the visa regime will reduce the flow of tourists from Russia, negatively affect the Montenegrin economy and worsen the investment climate.

"At the same time, it makes no sense for the Montenegrin authorities to expect compensation from Brussels for their unavoidable losses," she added.

Speaking about EU integration of Montenegro and other countries in the Western Balkans, Zakharova stated that those countries have the right to independently decide on relations with the European Union.

She assessed that changes in the security and foreign policy of the EU affect the conditions of future membership and that moving closer to the bloc implies alignment with the policy towards Russia, including sanctions against it, and support for Ukraine.

Zakharova believes that the process of EU integration no longer implies the possibility for new members to maintain a neutral status.

"We hope that the countries in the Western Balkans will see these changes in the European Union, analyze them and clearly understand the consequences of EU integration for their own national interests and the well-being of their citizens," Zakharova concluded.

The government of the provisional institutions in Pristina has established a working group to coordinate legal, institutional and diplomatic support to the leaders of the so-called KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army") who were convicted of war crimes by the first-instance verdict issued by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

The working group will be headed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of provisional institutions Glauk Konjufca, reports Ekonomia Online.

Prime Minister of Provisional Institutions Albin Kurti stated that the government believes that the first-instance verdict against the leaders of the so-called KLA are "legally and morally unjust", and that a "national strategy" is needed in the appeals procedure, which he said is "greater than party differences and unites institutions around a common goal".

On September 16, the Specialist Chambers in The Hague found the former leaders of the so-called KLA Hashim Thaci and Jakup Krasniqi guilty of war crimes and sentenced each to 25 years in prison, while Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi were sentenced to 18 and 13 years.

The panel for appeals decided to extend the deadline for filing appeals by the defense and the prosecution until November 27.

In Pristina, all political parties and the public, regardless of disagreements about other issues, regard the verdicts as "unjust" and are engaged in a systematic campaign to support those convicted of war crimes.

Immediately after the verdicts were announced, protests began that lasted until October 6, when the Assembly in Pristina adopted draft amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers.

The proposal was submitted by the Democratic Party of Kosovo, and includes narrowing the jurisdiction of the Specialist Chambers, shortening of the maximum sentences that can be pronounced, serving prison time in Kosovo and Metohija and the possibility of pardon.

The European Union criticized the adopted changes, pointing out that they contradict international obligations that Pristina has towards the EU.

The delegation of the European Union (EU) in Serbia has stated that the EU is closely monitoring the election campaign ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Serbia and that free, fair and transparent elections, conducted in accordance with international standards, are necessary for Serbia to fulfill the democratic criteria for progress towards EU membership.

The EU delegation stated that the authorities and all relevant actors in the country are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the electoral process and that all political leaders should contribute to a peaceful and democratic environment.

The EU recalls the long-standing recommendations of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to improve the electoral process in Serbia and adds that the citizens of Serbia expect a campaign that respects political pluralism and freedom of expression and is devoid of misinformation, inflammatory rhetoric and violence.

It is added that the EU is committed to providing support to Serbia on its path to accession and that this includes, "the right of citizens to make a decision freely and based on information, equal conditions for all election participants, equal access to the media, safety of journalists, an encouraging environment for civil society and a clear separation of the state and the party".

The EU delegation assesses that the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media should systematically monitor violations of media rules and react to them.

"The EU has the same expectations and calls on the authorities in Serbia to ensure protection of all election participants, domestic and foreign journalists, as well as domestic and international observers, during the entire campaign and election process," the statement said.

Concern is expressed over several reported incidents of violence, which "have no place in the election process and require a quick, transparent and credible institutional response in order to bring those responsible to justice".

It is added that the EU also expects all competent institutions to react quickly in cases of possible irregularities during the campaign and on election day, as well as to consider complaints in a timely manner at all stages of the election process.

The EU delegation welcomed the deployment of the long-term election observation mission of the OSCE/ODIHR at the invitation of the competent authorities, as well as the invitation to the European Parliament to observe the elections, and the contribution of local observers to preserving the integrity of the election process.

Parliamentary elections in Serbia are scheduled for October 25.

The south and southeast of Serbia are influenced by cyclones arriving from the south of the Balkans, so the weather is cloudy, with occasional rain.

There is most precipitation in the southeast of the country, and towards the end of the day and evening, it is also expected in the south.

At the same time, there are conditions for snow on the highest mountains in these areas, mostly above 1,500 meters above sea level.

Snow has already fallen in the south of Kosovo and Metohija, with the higher parts of the Sar mountain turning white, including Brezovica.

As the intensity of precipitation is forecast to increase in these areas towards the end of the day and evening, snow cover is expected to form.

Serbia is today between a strong anticyclone from the northwest and the Alps, while a strong cyclone is over Greece.

This synoptic situation makes the weather in the north and west of Serbia clear and stable, while the south and east is mostly overcast with precipitation. A strong precipitation system from Greece and Bulgaria will only affect the southern and southeastern parts of Serbia.

While it is cloudy and cold with precipitation in the south and east of Serbia, it is sunny in the north and west and in Belgrade.

Current temperatures range from 9 degrees in the south to 17 degrees in the north, 16 degrees in Belgrade. It was 8 degrees in Sjenica, 7 and 2 on mounts Zlatibor and Kopaonik.

Leader of the Serb List (SL) Zlatan Elek and the head of the parliamentary group of the Serb List, Igor Simic, met at the US embassy in Pristina with US senators Jeanne Shaheen and Dick Durbin, to point out the extremely difficult position of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the many problems and challenges that the Serb people face every day.

The party said that its representatives particularly stressed continued failure to implement the agreements reached in the past, above all regarding the formation of the ZSO (Community of Serb Municipalities) and the representation of Serbs in institutions, as well as the consequences that non-compliance has on the position, rights and future of the Serb people in these areas.

Special attention was paid to institutional behavior that endangers the basic human, civil and political rights of Serbs, emphasizing the need to ensure full respect for the rights of the Serb community and to prevent every form of institutional pressure and discrimination.

The safety of the Serb people was highlighted as one of the most important issues, indicating the concerns of citizens and the need to provide conditions in which Serbs will be able to live peacefully, safely and with dignity.

Representatives of the Serb List stressed the importance of stronger involvement of the international community in protecting the rights of the Serb people, consistently implementing the agreements reached and creating conditions for permanent stability and security in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Serb List will continue to point out to representatives of the international community all the problems faced by the Serb people and insist on respecting their rights, security and survival in these areas, the party's statement concluded.
