The saddest SERBIAN LOVE STORY: This children's disease brought them together, but death did them part ...

- Dear Philip, my love for you is like everyone's. I cannot be apart from you for one minute. When you're away, I hide somewhere and wait until you come - writes in one of the thirty letters that Anastasia Trajkovic sent to her first, only and last love from her hospital bed

Anastasia Trajkovic was buried last year in Vranje. When she died, she was only 10 years. Philip is now 11 years old. He survived leukemia. Philip and Anastasia met in the hospital. They were lying in hospital beds facing each other.

In the children's ward Department of Hematology, at the Clinical Center in Nis, they fell in love. Very, very, very strongly that it cannot be stronger.

When they had the hardest time, they slept in the same bed. To protect each other from fear. They held hands and looked at each other lovingly. Sometimes they would welcome the morning like that. Because they were in so much pain, that's why they were so in love. When they could not be together, they wrote each other letters. The most beautiful love letters in the world.

- I love you and I want you, as if you came from a story, all my dreams look like you. In a silent night when the heart is fearful, remember me, my beautiful angel! I love you, Anastasia - wrote Philip from his hospital bed to his greatest love, while doctors were giving him chemotherapy through his weak veins.

The lovebird children were separated by a narrow between their beds. Narrow. Small. A Hospital passage. To make room for as many beds for the sick children. But this narrow, small, hospital passage for Anastasia and Philip was often insurmountable. Huge. Great like the ocean. While they were receiving chemo, they were not allowed to, nor could they, get out of their hospital beds.

They were denied to look at each other. They could not sleep together. They could not hold hands. Nor protect one another from fear. Then they wrote.

Their crying mothers would deliver the letters. Like postmen. From one bed to the other, between which was a small, narrow, hospital aisle, as big as the ocean.

"Anastasia, my heart is pounding like a hammer, my sigh is like the wind, you will forever stay in my heart. God protect the person who is reading this, give her peace  and happiness, and give her everything she loves, save her from all evil and please help her whenever she needs your help ... ", wrote Philip. "I dream of you as a  beautiful prince and so shall you remain in my heart ... ", replied Anastasia.

And then ... just a loving heart can sense an imminent loss.

- Anastasia, my rose, you are glowing like the sun in the sky. When these clouds cover you, I will look to the sky and cry, how will I live without you ... is written in Philip's last letter.

Anastasia died on April 7th of last year. She was only 10 years. Philip has survived leukemia. Among the letters that are preserved there are dried rose petals which Anastasia sprinkled in his bed when he complained about the pain he felt and had to be transferred to a hospital clinic.

- Mom, Dad ... It's all over. I'm leaving ... Let's say goodbye, I'm going home - were the last words of little Anastasia before she fell into a coma. After five operations,  four chemo-therapies and 11 proton radiations, her weak body was not able to overcome the rare type of tumor of the maxillary sinus.

Parents of the girl are convinced that due to a poorly placed first diagnosis, doctors contributed to her untimely death, and the whole case is now before the court. At the insistence of the public, the child was sent to Prague to undergo proton radiation, but it was too late, because the cancer had metastasized.

Philip and Anastasia were in love.

Very, very, very much so, the strongest in the world.

Let's GET PHILIP OUT OF THE BASEMENT

Philip Atanasov with his stepfather Nebojsa (41), mother Susan (37) and brothers Alex (3) and Andrey (4) live in a basement in the center of Srviljiga. His parents do not have a steady job for years now, and the family will lose their right to compensation for the care which Philip "deserved" because of leukemia next month.

They have a lot, and the municipality will provide project and permission to build. All those who wish to help can send contributions to the account 325930080003283 626 in OTP Bank. For information call Tanja Lazarevic at 064 / 42-77-634.
