Number of tourists in Belgrade rises by 10 percent

A total of 196,799 tourists visited Belgrade in the first four months of this year, which is a 10-percent increase, the Tourism Organisation of Belgrade said in a statement on Thursday.

In the same period, 392,129 overnight stays were registered in the capital - a 12-percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Belgrade welcomed 40,085 Serbian tourists, while the number of foreign tourists grew by 10 percent to 156,714.

Most visitors came from Croatia (12,223), Slovenia (10,127), Greece (9,907), Turkey (9,863), Germany (8,791), Bosnia and Herzegovina (8,735), Bulgaria (8,695), Montenegro (7,977), Italy (7,159), Macedonia (6,088) and Russia (5,791).
