When we asked whether he is afraid for his own safety, I. Salopek said he has no reason to feel that way.

We remind you that last Wednesday, the Egyptian branch of the Islamic State threatened to kill Tomislav Salopek within 48 hours "if the Muslim women were not released."

Otherwise, Tomislav Salopek is the first Croatian citizen kidnapped in a foreign country, and his murder was the first killing of a foreign national by the Islamic state in Egypt.
