A drunk priest is widely known: People can't wait for him to retire, he was driving next to the deceased in the village where he serves as a punishment

Pope Nenad got so drunk that he was driven to the cemetery next to the deceased on a tractor-trailer, and the photo about that went around Serbia and made everybody laugh. This happened on Sunday, 11th March, in the village Drugovac near Smederevo, where this unfortunate event took place. He is serving his time there as a punishment because he has "behaved" the same way in other places where he served.

He, however, tried to hold the requiem, but he had to hold the monument of someone who was buried there.

- The priest was so drunk that he was falling down on the road, so they had to put him in the trailer. He has lost his cresset along the way, but he tried to hold the requiem, holding the monument of some deceased man. They took him away from the funeral in a van - Drako P. said, who posted the photo with the priest on social networks.

The locals testify that the priest has lost the cresset, but he tried to hold ht requiem nonetheless.

They add that they got used to this kind of sighs with the village priest because it is not his first time that he drank a bit more.

- We mostly laughed so far, but this is too much. We didn't complain to anyone, but believe me, people started going to another village or to the city to baptize their children and to get married - the locals said.

As the locals say, the priest has one month before retiring. Father Nenad came here for service five years ago, and because he was punished. He was in service in Kolari, where he has "proven" himself already.

During his service in this village, there were terrible and bizarre situations like this one a few days ago, he was also thrown out of the house on Patron Saint-day, they even chased him away from funerals.

- When he was supposed to baptize my child, he was so drunk that I almost canceled everything - a local said.

- A terrible tragedy happened two years ago when a two-year-old child died. He was so drunk at the funeral and he wasn't decent, so the relatives chased him away - the local claims who wanted to remain anonymous.
