Is the division of Kosovo back on the menu? What hides behind the statements of the officials prior to the new round of negotiations

The possibility of division of Kosovo in recent years has occasionally occurred, and while international officials have generally claimed that the division is impossible, it is increasingly said that a demarcation is an option and the president of the unrecognized state of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, talks about border corrections.

Hashim Thaci said that there will be no division, but he wants correction of the borders, while yesterday he added that the Presevo Valley should become part of the false state of Kosovo.

It has been confirmed from the many diplomatic sources from Moscow, Serbia would get the support of the Russian leadership if they showed the desire to solve the problem of Kosovo in this way.

- Vladimir Putin would surely support Vucic if he brought up the division on the table and if he asked for support. They would surely talk with Americans on this subject - one of the sources said.

More and more often, it can be heard that even official Washington has not completely rejected this idea. The exception was the statement of the US ambassador to Pristina, Greg Delavi, when he told KTV television that it was "up to Belgrade and Pristina to decide on a possible division of Kosovo."

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that we are fighting not against or just Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija, but that there are other factors and that everybody saw what the Brits are doing.

- We are fighting in almost impossible conditions to get the best for our people, and to lose the least we can - the president Vucic said.

What is important, he said, is that people know what we are doing about Kosovo and said that Serbia wants to reach a decision.

- There is a great tension in western factors as well and all of those who don't want to find a solution. THere is a great tension in Pristina, everywhere. When you ask those from the Alliance for Serbia why did they introduce borders on Brnjak, why did they arrest some people, and now you say it is not good to erase those borders. What do you want? Do you see that you are attacked by those who are for the integrity of Kosovo state - president of Serbia said.

He added that "he won't be criticized by nighter US or EU" and that "we cannot solve this problem of Kosovo and Metohija without the world", that is why it is important to get as many international factors possible on our side.

- About Americans, I think that they are the first to show the desire for a solution. They have a different approach and they want to achieve long-lasting peace, unlike others who don't seem to want that - Vucic said.
