The story about Bosko and Admira, is one of those war love stories that left no one feeling indifferent on that day in May 18th 1993., and even today, 23 years later, their love is stronger than death.

Serb Bosko and Muslim girl Admira were brutally killed on Vrbanja bridge in Sarajevo, and their dead bodies were laid there few days more in each others arms. Photo of the tragedy circled the globe, and their killers weren't identified up to this day.

Romeo and Juliet from Sarajevo, this is what the media named them, symbol of unity and coexistence in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, even thought they have no memorial.

They met in the Sarajevo Olympics, and their friendship soon grew into high school love, that continued even when the capital city was showered with bombs.

Their parents supported their love. They went to summer and winter trips together and to parties - they were inseparable. They planed their future, life together, marriage, children, future, and then the destiny on that bridge, which divided Sarajevo in two parts, forever stopped their dreams.

Bosko didn't left Sarajevo because of Admira, even though he lives kilometers away, and yet they still saw each other every day. One year after the war broke out in Bosnia and Herzegovina they decided to leave the city and search for better life where their love won't be judged and where they didn't have to walk with their heads down because names or surnames.

With the help of a mutual friend, they arranged and exit strategy from the surrounded Sarajevo in 18th May 1993. and they headed to freedom. Believing that it's a cease-fire in effect, they did not wait for nigh time, but they went at 5PM, but they only managed to get to Vrbanj bridge where the first sniper shot hit Branko, and the second Admira.

Mortally wounded, she crawled to the dead Bosko, hugged him and passed away. Their bodies were lying on the same spot for seven days on "no mans land", and they were dragged away by members of the military of Republika Srpska and buried their bodies on the cemetery in Lukavica.

At the end of the war, Armir's parents transferred the bodies to Sarajevo where they were buried next to each other on the cemetery Lion. 

Sarajevo portal Klix.ba reminds us that the story about Bosko and Admira was conveyed by American reporter Kurt Shork via Reuters, who reported that the authorities of both sides at the time allowed passing through.

- Bosko and Admira were walking at least 500 meters on the right shore of the Miljacka river, completely exposed to the eyes of the soldiers of both sides. After they crossed the line, which was under control of Bosnia, and headed to the suburb Grbavica under the Serbian control, somebody hit them - was written by Shork.
