Dimitrov: Bulgaria wants Serbia in EU as soon as possible

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday received a farewell visit from Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Dimitrov, who said that Bulgaria wanted to see its neighbour Serbia join the European family of nations as soon as possible.

Vucic thanked the Bulgarian diplomat for the efficient cooperation that has contributed to the development of good and stable political relations between the two countries.

Vucic also highlighted the significance of cooperation within the Craiova Group, in which Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania discuss matters of mutual interest.

He expressed interest in implementation of road and rail infrastructure projects to bring the two countries closer together and help economic cooperation, tourism in particular, grow, an official statement said.

There is clear political will in Serbia to solve the matter of the Bulgarian national minority, Vucic also said, thanking Dimitrov for Bulgaria's support for Serbia on the European integration path.
