In an article written on the occasion of 20 years since their countries’ accession to the EU, which appeared in the Tuesday edition of Belgrade-based daily Politika, Austrian Minister Sebastian Kurz, Finnish Minister Erkki Tuomioja and their Swedish counterpart Margot Wallstroem pointed to the fact that Serbia was a candidate country and accession negotiations with it had begun in 2014.

Obviously, the adoption of the EU standards and rules is not an easy task, and Austria, Finland and Sweden all went through that. It requires not only legislation reform, but also changes in judicial and political practices, the article said.

Vucic: Serbia has done A LOT on its path towards the EU. It's time for a membership!

Serbia is on the right track, and we are ready to help it become a full-fledged Union member-state, said the three foreign ministers.

Let us continue along this path together and witness the next 20 years being successful not only for Austria, Finland and Sweden, but also for Serbia and its neighbors, said the article.
