They are charged for refusing to treat their child with conventional methods of modern medicine, as well taking the child outside the hospital on their own request, which caused the sickness to advance over the vital organs after what the little one died.

The nine year old boy was diagnosed with the cancer of the lymph nodes in children's hospital Kantrida at the start of August, and when he was brought in, his neck was significantly swollen. After a day spent in the Kantrida his parents, despite doctor's insisting to stay and go under chemotherapy, have taken him out of the hospital. They signed the release note with explanation that they want another opinion. After that they turned to alternative medicine treatments.

The father Viktor Brnobic explained later that they decided to treat the boy with "natural nonagresive way with soda and lemons (Simoncili therapy), natural juices according to the recipe of doctor Gerson (Gerson therapy known to public since 1934) and various herbal drops, tinctures, and antibiotics in the same base" and they managed to acquire the cannabis oil the day before he ended up in hospital. They thought for chemotherapy to be "poison gas".
